Description
The Universal Power Group 24BC3500T-4 is a 24 V 3.5 A off-board charger with a 3-pin XLR lead, for AGM or gel sealed lead-acid packs of 12 to 35 Ah. It charges in three stages and has an AGM or gel switch. It is one charger; the scooter and batteries are separate.
Which scooter can use this charger?
Any 24 V scooter or power chair whose manual allows a 3.5 A charger and whose pack is 12 to 35 Ah, provided the output lead matches the charge port. Check the old charger's label and the device manual. The 2 A model, 24BC2000T-4, is a different charger with a 7 to 18 Ah range.
What must match the old charger?
- The battery system: 24 V, AGM or gel. This charger is not for lithium packs.
- The current: 3.5 A. A scooter that specifies a 2 A charger takes the smaller model.
- The pack size: 12 to 35 Ah.
- The output plug: a 3-pin XLR. Pin 1 is positive, pin 2 is negative and pin 3 is ground.
How does it charge?
Set the switch to AGM or gel. The default is AGM. Connect the output lead to the scooter, then the AC cord, then the wall outlet. The power LED is red; the charge LED is red while fast charging, flashing green in float, and steady green when the charge is finished. A flashing red light is a fault.
If the battery is under 14 V, the charger will not start. It cuts off after 20 hours and then restarts on its own.
Use it indoors, in a ventilated place, and never charge a frozen battery.
Can Mobility test it?
Our technicians can test the scooter battery and the charger. Use the battery replacement form to book.
What warranty comes with it?
Universal Power Group gives one year from the date of sale to the original purchaser; the full terms are in the Warranty tab.

Frequently asked questions
Does the plug alone prove compatibility?
No. A 3-pin XLR still has to match 24 V AGM or gel, the 3.5 A current, the 12 to 35 Ah pack and the device manual.
Is this the same as the 2 A model?
No. The 2 A model is 24BC2000T-4, with a 7 to 18 Ah range.
Can I use it on a lithium pack?
No. It charges AGM or gel sealed lead-acid batteries only.
