Mobility Specialties Supplier Code of Conduct
At Mobility Specialties, we are committed to conducting business with integrity, accountability, and respect for human rights, labor standards, and the environment. This Supplier Code of Conduct outlines the minimum standards of behavior and practices we expect from our suppliers and their subcontractors. By adhering to this Code, suppliers help us maintain our values and deliver the highest quality of service to our clients.
1. Compliance with Laws and Regulations
Suppliers must comply fully with all applicable local, national, and international laws, regulations, and standards. This includes, but is not limited to, laws governing labor, health and safety, environmental protection, and fair trade practices. Suppliers are expected to promptly report any non-compliance to Mobility Specialties and work collaboratively to address it.
2. Environmental Sustainability
Suppliers play a key role in advancing environmental sustainability. Suppliers are expected to:
- Identify and mitigate environmental risks associated with their products and services.
- Implement effective environmental policies, programs, or practices to reduce negative impacts.
- Promote energy efficiency, waste reduction, and sustainable resource use.
- Ensure sustainable packaging and durability of goods.
Suppliers should align with international environmental commitments, such as the Paris Agreement, and contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, plastics, and hazardous waste.
3. Human Rights and Labor Standards
Suppliers must uphold fundamental human rights and provide fair and ethical working conditions. This includes:
- Freely Chosen Employment: Employment must be voluntary, and suppliers must not engage in forced, bonded, or involuntary labor.
- Child Labor: Suppliers must comply with local laws regarding minimum working age and ensure no child labor is used. Workers under 18 must not perform hazardous work that could jeopardize their health or safety.
- Fair Wages and Benefits: Suppliers must meet or exceed legal minimum wage requirements, provide clear and transparent wage information, and prohibit unfair wage deductions.
- Working Hours: Suppliers must comply with applicable laws regarding working hours, breaks, and overtime. Workers must not be penalized for refusing overtime.
- Safe and Healthy Workplace: Suppliers must provide a safe and hygienic work environment, identify and mitigate industry-specific hazards, and offer relevant safety training.
- Prohibition of Harassment and Abuse: Any form of abuse, harassment, or intimidation is strictly prohibited.
4. Indigenous Rights
Suppliers must respect the rights and freedoms of Indigenous Peoples. If engaging in activities that may infringe upon Indigenous or treaty rights, suppliers must share this information with Mobility Specialties early in the planning stages to ensure open and authentic engagement with Indigenous communities.
5. Prevention of Human Trafficking, Forced Labor, and Child Labor
Mobility Specialties is committed to upholding international standards to combat human trafficking and forced labor. Suppliers must:
- Ensure all work is voluntary and free from exploitation, including human trafficking and forced labor.
- Comply with laws prohibiting the importation of goods produced with forced or compulsory labor.
- Prohibit hazardous or exploitative child labor in their operations and supply chains.
6. Diversity and Inclusiveness
Mobility Specialties is committed to diversity and inclusion in all aspects of its operations. Suppliers are required to:
- Prohibit discrimination, harassment, or victimization based on race, nationality, ethnicity, religion, age, sex, gender identity, marital status, disability, or sexual orientation.
- Comply with all applicable anti-discrimination legislation.
- Promote diversity and inclusiveness within their workforce and supply chain.
7. Ethical Business Practices
Suppliers must maintain the highest standards of integrity in all business dealings. This includes:
- Anti-Corruption: Any form of corruption, bribery, extortion, or embezzlement is strictly prohibited. Violations may result in immediate termination of the supplier relationship and potential legal action.
- Conflict of Interest: Suppliers must disclose any real, apparent, or perceived conflicts of interest to Mobility Specialties.
- Gifts and Hospitality: Suppliers must not offer gifts, entertainment, or other benefits to Mobility Specialties employees that could create the appearance of impropriety or influence business decisions.
8. Grievance Mechanisms
Suppliers must provide an anonymous and confidential method for workers to raise concerns to senior management without fear of retaliation. This mechanism should allow for reporting issues such as harassment, abuse, wage disputes, or unsafe working conditions.
9. Subcontracting
Suppliers are not permitted to subcontract services for Mobility Specialties without prior written approval. Approved subcontractors must adhere to the same standards outlined in this Code, particularly those related to human rights and working conditions.
10. Monitoring and Compliance
Mobility Specialties reserves the right to monitor compliance with this Code of Conduct through audits, assessments, or other means. Suppliers are expected to cooperate fully and provide access to relevant information and records.
11. Reporting Concerns
Suppliers are encouraged to report any violations of this Code or unethical practices to Mobility Specialties. Reports can be made confidentially, and retaliation against whistleblowers is strictly prohibited.
By adhering to this Supplier Code of Conduct, suppliers contribute to Mobility Specialties’ mission of enhancing accessibility and improving the quality of life for our clients. Failure to comply with this Code may result in the termination of the supplier relationship.
