Description

The Ezee Life CH1020 is an economy wheeled commode: a toilet seat and lid on a four-caster frame with a pail underneath. It rolls to the bedside or bathroom.

What does it do and how does it work?

  • Legs: four push-button legs set the frame height. Set all four to the same level.
  • Seat: a toilet seat and lid snap onto the back bar. A pail drops into the seat frame when a toilet is out of reach.
  • Arms: two padded arm supports bolt to the seat frame, four fasteners each, padded wrap to the front.
  • Back: bolts on with four fasteners and angles outward.
  • Casters: four, screwed into the legs. Push a lock lever down to brake a caster and lift it to release.
  • Frame: silver tubular metal, with no footrests.

Who is it for, and who should choose something else?

  • For a commode beside the bed or a spare toilet in the bathroom, with a caregiver to roll it.
  • For showering, choose the Ezee Life CH1030, the padded commode and shower chair.
  • For moving outdoors, choose a transport chair; this commode is for indoor floors.
  • If it will not move, a fixed commode is simpler and has fewer parts.

Will it fit?

  • Measure the floor space beside the bed or toilet and the doorway the chair must pass through.
  • The frame must stand fully opened, with all parts secure, before anyone sits on it.
  • If the person needs a wider or padded seat, choose another model.
  • Set all four legs to the same height.
  • Tell us the seat height you need and we confirm it before you order.
  • Small casters roll on hard floors. A raised threshold or deep carpet will stop them.

Using it day to day

  • Assembly needs a 10 mm wrench and a 16 mm wrench. The back and arms bolt on; the seat and lid snap on.
  • Lock the casters before sitting down or standing up, and lift the levers to roll again.
  • Use the pail when a toilet is not in reach. Lift it out to empty it and rinse it.
  • The seat and lid snap off for cleaning. Wipe the frame with a damp cloth.

What does it work with, and what are its limits?

  • Keep it out of the shower. It is not rated for shower use.
  • It is a commode, not a transport chair; the casters are for indoor floors.
  • There are no footrests and no splash guard.
  • One-year warranty for the original purchaser; see the Warranty tab.

How does it compare?
