Handicare A-450 is a fixed ceiling lift motor for a planned track system. The installed lift is rated 450 lb (204 kg), and the label on the motor sets the final limit.
How is a system planned?
- An assessment sets the track route, the ceiling structure, the transfer points and the sling.
- The motor is one part: track, carry bar, sling and installation are separate.
- Installation is by Handicare-authorized people; only trained operators use the system.
- Do not exceed the rated load of any component in the system.
What do the controls do?
- The digital hand control has a backlit LCD and is rated IPX6 and IPX7.
- It shows battery and fault information, with a low-battery alert.
- Emergency stop and powered lowering are built in.
- The trolley tilts 15 degrees to help position the motor over the person.
Which traverse?
- Manual, power, power return-to-charge and power XY versions are available.
- Return-to-charge runs at three set speeds; the quote names the setting and charger point.
- The quote should identify the model, charger location and route through the room.
Which bar and sling?
- Bull Horn or Spring Latch carry bars come in several widths, all with quick release.
- Use Handicare or Prism Medical track, slings and accessories, and follow their own guides.
- Do not pair a sling from another maker without the compatibility chart.
Power and service
- The battery is two 12 V 5.0 Ah sealed lead-acid packs; a full battery gives 50 to 60 lifts at 450 lb.
- Charge only with a Soneil PS2403SRM26, or the Soneil 2403SRM20 end-point charger. Confirm which ships.
- Duty cycle is 1 minute on and 9 minutes off.
- Service life is 22,500 cycles or 10 years. Replace the strap every 5,000 cycles, 3 years, or when the wear indicators turn grey.
- Keep the charger outside the patient vicinity, and never put the lift or hand control directly into water.
- The warranty is 1 year from installation or 18 months from manufacture, whichever is first. Batteries are excluded after 90 days.

Is ceiling track included with the A-450?
No. The A-450 is a lift motor. Track, carry bar, sling and installation are priced on the assessment quote.
Is the A-450 a 625 lb lift?
No. The A-450 is rated 450 lb (204 kg). The A-625 is a different model.
Does 96 inches describe ceiling height?
No. That is the maximum lifting-strap travel, not an installed height.
Which charger is used?
A Soneil PS2403SRM26, or the Soneil 2403SRM20 end-point charger. Confirm which one ships with the lift.

Warranty
Warranty details
Handicare warrants the A-450 ceiling lift, supplied as new, against failure from defects in material or workmanship.
- Term: 1 year from the date of installation or 18 months from the date of manufacture, whichever is shorter.
- Batteries: not covered more than 90 days after the original purchase.
- Excludes normal wear and tear, damage by natural forces, neglect, misuse and deliberate damage.
- Void if the lift is not serviced by Handicare or its authorized service agents as the maker recommends, or if an unauthorized person works on it.
- Handicare's liability is limited to replacing defective parts.
