C450 Fixed Ceiling Lift by Handicare

The Handicare C450 is a fixed ceiling lift: the unit runs on a track above the room, and one caregiver moves a person with a hand control.

Who is the C450 ceiling lift for?

• Repeated transfers between a bed, chair, toilet or bath when the person cannot bear weight.

How does a transfer work?

• The sling attaches to the carry bar, and the pneumatic hand control raises, lowers and moves the lift.
• On-board controls back it up, and a display shows lifts, battery and status.
• A red cord is the emergency stop; powered and manual 4 mm hex lowering are fitted.
• Bull horn bars take loop slings; spring latch bars take clip slings.

• Sling and lift ratings must both cover the person, with a maker-approved pairing.

Battery, charging and care

• A 24 V 5.0 Ah battery with a Soneil charger gives 50 to 60 lifts at 450 lb.
• Charging is end-point or constant rail, with a return-to-charge option.
• Charge five hours before first use, or one hour from low for a transfer; duty is 1 minute on, 9 off.
• The maker gives a service life of 10 years or 22,500 cycles.

Which versions and options are there?

• Manual traverse as standard; power traverse, power X-Y and a power turntable are options.
