Drive 13244 is a battery-powered bariatric floor lift with a four-point cradle. It is rated 600 lbs (272 kg) and is made for a person whose weight is above what a standard home lift carries.
What does it do?
- The extra-wide coated cradle turns 360 degrees, so the carer can position the person without moving the base.
- The legs spread by hand with a padded handle and lock open.
- A jumbo actuator raises and lowers the boom, and the hand control has up and down buttons.
- The battery charges on the lift and does not need to be removed.
Who is it for?
- A person up to 600 lbs (272 kg), assessed for a sling transfer.
- The lift and the sling must both carry the person's weight, and the lower limit applies.
- It is for transfers by an attendant, not for moving someone down a hall.
Will it fit?
- Base clearance is 2 in (5 cm) for passing under a bed; measure the height you need.
- Boom height runs from 32 to 75.5 in (81 to 192 cm).
- Measure the doorway, the turning space and the floor under the bed or commode.
- A free home assessment can check the route.
Which sling fits?
- The four-point cradle takes standard and commode slings with four hook-up points.
- Use a standard or commode sling with four hook-up points, rated at least to the person's weight.
- A sling is not included. See patient lift slings.
Charging and emergency use
- Plug the lift in to charge. A full charge from half takes about 4 hours, and the lift will not run while plugged in.
- The controller beeps when the battery falls below half charge.
- If the battery is flat with a person in the sling, the Quick Release push/pull lowers the actuator under load.
- The red emergency stop button stops the control unit.
- Leave the casters unlocked while lifting a person, and apply the rear brakes when the lift is parked.
Setup and checks
- One carton holds the base, mast and boom, cradle, battery, control box, hand control, push handle and hardware.
- The lift weighs 132 lbs (60 kg), and the carton weighs 148 lbs (67 kg).
- Check the mast bolts, the cradle hook and the sling straps before each use.
- Drive's lifetime limited warranty excludes casters, grips and other wear parts.

Drive Medical warrants the bariatric battery-powered patient lift (13244) to be free of defects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of the product, for the original consumer purchaser.
- Term: lifetime limited.
- Covers the original consumer purchaser only.
- Excludes failure from misuse, negligence or normal wear and tear.
- Excludes non-durable parts that wear and need periodic replacement, such as rubber accessories, casters and grips.
