The Drive PrimeCare P703 is one of our long term care beds: a full-electric frame that lowers to 7 inches (18 cm) for standing and rises to 30 inches (76 cm) for a caregiver.
Who is it for?
- An adult who stands from a low bed, and their caregiver.
- Nightly use at home or in a residence; no clinical monitoring or therapy functions.
- Not for a child, and not for moving a person from room to room.
- Safe working load is 550 lbs (249 kg), including the person, mattress, rails and accessories. The resident limit is 500 lbs (227 kg).
Will it fit the room?
- Deck width: 36 inches (91.5 cm), or 39 or 42 inches with the P703 width extension.
- Rotating rails add 3 inches (7.5 cm) to each side.
- Overall length with the wall bumper is 89, 93, 97 or 101 inches (227, 237, 247 or 257 cm). The frame ships in a carton that two people may need to lower.
Which mattress and rails are safe on it?
- Mattress: 36, 39 or 42 inches wide, 76 to 88 inches long, 5-1/2 to 7 inches (14 to 18 cm) thick.
- A mattress that is too narrow or too thin leaves a gap at the rail, where entrapment happens.

Frequently asked questions
Can the bed be adjusted during an outage?
The bed holds its position, but the pendant stops until power returns. Lower and flatten it before a planned outage, or add the separate P703-BBK battery backup for short interruptions.
Can it be moved with the person in it?
No. The casters only move the empty bed inside the room. Moving an occupied bed over a threshold can injure the person. Use a separate transport device.

Warranty details
Drive Medical warrants the PrimeCare P703 long term care bed against defects in materials and craftsmanship under normal use and service. Drive repairs or replaces defective items at its option at no charge.
- Welds: limited lifetime, defined as 20 years from delivery.
- Structural steel frame: 15 years from delivery.
- Electrical and mechanical parts and components: 3 years from delivery.
- Bed-mounted accessories, head and foot boards and all other parts: 1 year.
- DC batteries: 90 days.
- Covers the original owner who bought it new from Drive or an authorized dealer; not transferable. A valid bed serial number is required.
- Excludes abuse, improper assembly, use, cleaning or repair, accident, negligence, unauthorized alteration, unsuitable environments, poor maintenance, and work not done by an authorized Drive distributor or technician.
