Description
The Drive PrimeCare P503 is one of our long term care beds: a full-electric 36 inch frame that lowers to 7.8 inches (19.8 cm).
Who is it for?
- An adult up to 425 lbs (193 kg), and a caregiver, at home or in a residence.
- Safe working load is 450 lbs (204 kg), including the resident, bedding and accessories.
- Not for a child, and not over that resident limit.
Will it fit the room?
- Deck: 36 inches (91 cm) wide, sleep surface 76 or 80 inches.
- Rails add about 3 inches (7.5 cm) each side, so 42 inches (107 cm) overall.
- Length is 83 or 86 inches without the wall bumper, and 88 or 90 inches with it.
- It ships assembled in one carton.
- The low deck shortens the distance to the floor.
Which mattress and rails are safe on it?
- Mattress: 36 inches wide, 76 or 80 inches long, 5.5 to 7 inches (14 to 18 cm) thick.
- A mattress that is too narrow or too thin leaves a gap at the rail, where entrapment happens.
- Use only Drive assist bar PLTCAB and assist rail PLTCAR. No other maker's rails are approved.
- A care team decides whether rails are used. See hospital bed safety.
- The only battery is a Timotion TBB2, for emergencies. We confirm that battery before you order. This frame has no staff control.

Frequently asked questions
Does the bed still move in a power failure?
The bed holds its position until power returns. It moves unplugged only with a Timotion TBB2 battery, for emergencies.
Can the bed be rolled at any height?
Yes, it rolls at any height on eight 3 inch casters. The route in must take one assembled carton.
What is not included?
The mattress, bed ends, rails and battery are separate. Ends are Mill Creek or Brownwood, in Oslo Oak, Oslo Cherry or Oslo Fig Mahogany.

Warranty
Warranty details
Drive Medical warrants the PrimeCare P503 long term care bed against defects in materials and craftsmanship under normal use and service. Drive repairs or replaces defective items at its option at no charge.
- Welds: limited lifetime, defined as 20 years from delivery.
- Structural steel frame: 15 years from delivery.
- Electrical and mechanical parts and components: 3 years from delivery.
- Bed-mounted accessories, head and foot boards and all other parts: 1 year.
- DC batteries: 90 days.
- Covers the original owner who bought it new from Drive or an authorized dealer; not transferable. A valid bed serial number is required.
- Excludes abuse, improper assembly, use, cleaning or repair, accident, negligence, unauthorized alteration, unsuitable environments, poor maintenance, and work not done by an authorized Drive distributor or technician.
