Description
The Ki Mobility Rogue 2 is a rigid aluminum wheelchair for an adult who self-propels and lifts the chair into a car.
What does it do and how does it work?
It is a one-piece aluminum frame. The back folds onto the seat and the rear wheels come off.
- Without the rear wheels, a 16" x 16" frame with a short back, 4" casters and an open footplate is 10.6 lbs (4.8 kg).
- Camber is 0, 2, 4, 6 or 8 degrees. One tool sets the back angle.
- The back runs from 12 degrees closed to 9 degrees open. It does not recline.
- Anti-tips have three positions, including stowed.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
- Adults to 275 lbs (124.7 kg). This is not the Rogue ALX or the Rogue XP.
- If the frame must fold side to side, choose a folding wheelchair such as the Quickie 2.
- Over 275 lbs (124.7 kg): bariatric wheelchairs. If a caregiver must tilt the seat: tilt-in-space wheelchairs.
Will it fit?
- Seat width is 12" to 20" (30.5-50.8 cm). Depth is 14" to 20" (35.6-50.8 cm). A 20" width or depth needs the reinforced frame.
- Front height is 13.5" to 20.5" (34.3-52.1 cm). Rear height is 12.5" to 20" (31.8-50.8 cm). The 12.5" rear height needs 20" wheels.
- The footrest sits at least 2.5" below the front seat. There is no swing-away or elevating legrest.
- The chair Ki Mobility tested, seat 20" x 17", was 30 lbs (13.6 kg) and 26.5" (67.3 cm) wide. We confirm seat width, depth and rear wheel size before you order.
Using it day to day
- Fold the back and lift by the frame. Do not lift by the release bar or by removable parts. Dry it after rain or slush.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
- Armrests are optional, and leaving them off is the no-charge choice. The cushion is separate. A free home assessment measures hips, hip to knee, and knee to heel.
- Transit tie-downs must be ordered with the chair. They cannot be added later. Without them, transfer to a vehicle seat.
- Klaxon Twist needs the reinforced frame and anti-tips. A 12" width is not offered with it. The chair's limit stays 275 lbs (124.7 kg).
- Frame and quick-release axles: life of the original purchaser. Other Ki parts: 1 year. See the Warranty tab.
How does it compare?
- The Ethos seats you on polymer towers. Its stated frame is 11.6 lbs (5.26 kg) with the rear wheels off, against 10.6 lbs (4.8 kg) here.
- The Helio A6 folds side to side, at 265 lbs (120 kg), or 350 lbs (159 kg) with its heavy-duty kit.
- See rigid wheelchairs and Type 4 wheelchairs.
