Description
The Drive Rebel (RTLREB18DDA-SF) is a one-size steel folding wheelchair with an 18 in seat and a fold-down back, for an adult who propels or is pushed.
What does it do and how does it work?
- Steel frame at 37 lb (16.8 kg), in Flame Red with black upholstery.
- Quick-release rear wheels with hand rims and solid rubber tires; the rider can self-propel or a companion can push.
- The back folds down and the frame folds to 10.5 in (27 cm) wide; wheels, casters, footrests and arms come off without tools.
- Padded desk-length armrests lift out of front and rear sockets after a spring button is pressed.
- Push-to-lock wheel locks; a calf strap comes with the footrests.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
- An adult up to 300 lb (136 kg) who wants one fixed size and a chair that packs small.
- More widths or a lower seat: the Cruiser X4. Anti-tippers included: the Viper Plus GT.
- Over 300 lb: bariatric wheelchairs.
Will it fit?
- Seat 18 in wide by 16 in deep (46 by 41 cm), 19.5 in (49.5 cm) from the floor; back 17 in (43 cm).
- Open width 25.5 in (65 cm); folded width 10.5 in (27 cm); boxed, 36.4 by 11.3 by 28 in (92 by 29 by 71 cm).
- Measure hip width, hips to knee, and knee to heel in shoes; there is one axle position and no lower setting.
Using it day to day
- Unfold by pulling the sides outward; lift the back upholstery until it locks.
- Insert each caster until its spring pin clicks, then fit the E-clip and thumb screw; slide each axle in until it clicks.
- Hang each footrest on the hanger pins; set footplate height with the lock clip and keep the lowest point 2.5 in (6.4 cm) off the floor.
- Push both wheel locks fully forward before a transfer or a forward lean; do not use them to slow a slope.
- Wipe the frame and upholstery with mild soap; solid rubber tires need little upkeep.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
- A companion should help on inclines steeper than 10%; do not use it on roadways.
- Never use it as a seat in a motor vehicle.
- The rider and anything carried must total no more than 300 lb (136 kg).
- No anti-tippers or elevating legrests are supplied, and the seat is not a cushion.

Drive Medical warrants the Rebel wheelchair (RTLREB18DDA-SF) to be free of defects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of the original consumer purchaser.
- Frame and durable parts: limited lifetime, original purchaser only.
- Not covered: non-durable parts that wear and need periodic replacement, such as rubber accessories, casters and grips.
- Excludes failure from misuse, negligence or normal wear and tear.
