Description
The Ezee Life CH1091 is a 22 in (56 cm) heavy-duty folding wheelchair with a steel frame and an 18 in deep seat, rated to 400 lb (181 kg).
What does it do and how does it work?
- Steel cross-brace frame at 43 lb (19.5 kg), with 24 in (61 cm) rear wheels.
- Hand rims on the rear wheels let the rider self-propel, or a companion pushes from the handles.
- Solid flat-free tires on the rear wheels and 8 in (20 cm) front casters.
- Seat height 19.5 or 17.5 in (49.5 or 44.5 cm); the 18 in seat is deeper than the 18 and 20 in models.
- Removable padded armrests, swing-away footrests and a lever wheel lock on each side; elevating legrests are optional.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
- An adult up to 400 lb (181 kg) who needs a larger seat for regular use at home and on outings.
- Under 300 lb: the CH1094 with a 20 in seat. Over 400 lb: heavy-duty wheelchairs.
- Push only: a 22 inch bariatric transport chair.
Will it fit?
- Seat 22 in wide by 18 in deep (56 by 46 cm); back 17 in (43 cm).
- Overall width 30.5 in (77 cm); length 44 in (112 cm) with footrests and 34 in (86 cm) without; height 35.5 in (90 cm).
- Footrests adjust 15 to 19 in (38 to 48 cm) on 60 degree hangers; set the knees level.
- Measure hip width, hips to knee, and knee to heel in shoes, and measure the doorways.
Using it day to day
- To fold, flip up the footplates or remove the footrests, then pull up on the seat handles; push down on the seat frame to open.
- Press the push-pin and lift each armrest out with two hands; check that it locks before moving.
- Swing the footrests aside before a transfer; keep the footplates 2 in (5 cm) off the ground.
- Pull the brake handle back to lock and push it forward to release; lock both before getting in or out.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
- The rider and anything carried must total no more than 400 lb (181 kg).
- No cushion, seat belt or anti-tippers are included; elevating legrests are optional.
- The back does not fold down and the axles are fixed.
- Warranty: 1 year on manufacturing defects, materials and workmanship for the original buyer; wear, accidents and misuse are excluded. See the Warranty tab.
