Who is it for, and who should choose another cushion?
- A rider whose seating plan calls for a fluid cushion with a stable, contoured base.
- Seats wider than 22": CryoFluid is not made in 23" or 24"; the standard Fusion goes to 24".
- To adjust firmness yourself, choose air: fluid volume is set on the order.
How do you check the fit?
- Width: your wheelchair seat and your seated hip width, confirmed in a seating assessment.
- Depth: to within 1" to 2" (2.5 to 5 cm) of the back of your knees.
- The cushion comes 14" to 22" wide and deep in 68 standard sizes; the part number is JFUSION plus width and depth plus CFH, so JFUSION1618CFH is 16" x 18".
- 14" x 22" is not made; some other sizes, and 23" or 24" depths, are custom orders through JAY Your Way.
- Height is 4" (102 mm) standard, or 3 3/8" (86 mm) in the reduced profile; the 16" x 18" cushion weighs 5.3 lbs (2.4 kg).
- The positioning version adds 1" hip guides, lateral thigh supports and an abductor wedge, quoted through our wheelchair configuration page.
Limits and care
- Cooling lasts up to 8 hours in tests at 25°C (77°F), and results vary. The insert will not recharge in a room above 28°C (82°F); until it does, it works as ordinary fluid.
- The cushion is warranted for 24 months and the removable cover for 6 months; punctures, tears and burns are excluded.
- A new cushion can change how the wheelchair balances: ask us to check whether anti-tippers are needed.
- Do not use it on stretched seat upholstery; replace the upholstery or use a solid seat.
- Change the fluid volume, insert or obliquity pads only as a clinician directs.
- Cushions that have been used or have touched skin cannot be returned, and custom orders are non-returnable (return policy).

Frequently asked questions
How do I check the cushion for bottoming out?
Monthly: sit 7 to 10 minutes with the zipper open, transfer off and press into the dents under your seat bones. If you feel less than 1/2" (1.3 cm) of fluid, stop using it and see your therapist.
Can I leave it in the car?
Not overnight below 5°C (40°F) or above 42°C (108°F). Let it reach room temperature before sitting on it.
What if the fluid volume turns out wrong?
During the warranty, Sunrise replaces the fluid pad free for the original buyer when a clinician finds the volume wrong. Punctures, tears and burns are not covered.

Warranty details
Sunrise Medical warrants the JAY Fusion cushion to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for 24 months from the date of purchase, under normal use.
- Cushion: 24 months. Sunrise Medical repairs or replaces it at its option, without charge.
- Removable cover: 6 months.
- Excludes punctures, tears and burns.
- JAY Flow fluid or JAY Fluid with Cryo insert: replaced free during the warranty when a clinician or authorized dealer finds the fluid volume wrong for the original purchaser.
- Claims and repairs go through the nearest authorized Sunrise Medical dealer.
