Med Aire Plus 8″ Alternating Pressure and Low Air Loss Mattress System
Drive Medical 14029 Med-Aire Alternating Pressure Low Air Loss Mattress System is a pressure mattress system providing both alternating pressure and static pressure. The air mattress pump provides alternating pressure and is designed to be used in the prevention, treatment, and management of pressure ulcers. The air pump produces consistent airflow and is “whisper quiet.” The EZ Lock Quick Release Tubing Connector locks the pump and mattress together.
Pressure tabs on the EZ Lock allow easy connection and quick disconnect. This low air loss mattress has 20 air bladders. Nine (9) of the bladders are equipped with laser holes to achieve the low air loss function, which increases patient comfort, keeps the patient cool, and speeds recovery.

I purchased this to swap out the Low Air Loss mattress that we were renting from the skilled nursing home, which was comparable. Since being purchased, or nearly 5 months ago, it has been used continuously 24 hours a day without experiencing any issues. There have been no signs of pressure sores, and the alternating pressure is actually more effective than the previous rental mattress. I’ll buy another to replace it if it ever stops working in the future.

Wife is disabled and spends most of her time in bed. I’ve avoided pressure sores for the past 11 years by utilizing this style of mattress. This was the most affordable option I could find.
