Description
The Drive Gravity 8, item 15870, is a non-powered foam replacement mattress for a hospital or homecare bed, 36 x 80 x 6 in (91 x 203 x 15 cm).
What does it do and how does it work?
It uses three foam layers to spread pressure and a shaped heel section to protect the heels.
- The top is die-cut across the full width.
- The bottom layer has horizontal scores so the mattress bends with the bed.
- The foot section slopes, with a channel-cut foam centre under the heels.
- A high-density foam perimeter runs around the sides.
- The cover has a fluid-resistant stretch nylon top and a waterproof vinyl bottom.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
It suits a person up to 400 lbs (181 kg) who needs a foam mattress replacement.
- The person's nurse, doctor or therapist decides which surface suits their skin and risk.
- Choose the Gravity 7 for a 350 lbs rating.
- Choose the Gravity 9 for a 450 lbs rating and a four-layer build.
Will it fit?
Match the length to the deck; every size is 36 in wide and 6 in high.
- The lengths are 76, 80 and 84 in (193, 203 and 213 cm).
- Capacity is 400 lbs (181 kg); the lower of that and the bed's safe working load applies.
- The 6 in (15 cm) height changes the transfer height and rail gaps. Health Canada advises gaps under 120 mm (4 3/4 in) in zones 1 to 3 and 60 mm (2 3/8 in) in zone 4.
- A used mattress cannot be returned under our return policy.

- Do not open the zipper during cleaning or use, and do not launder the cover.

- The raised side edges on 15888 are foam bolsters, not bed rails.
- It does not change the bed's safe working load.
- Foam is covered for 10 years and the cover for 3 years. Labour and shipping are not included.

Warranty details
Drive Medical warrants the Gravity 8 Deluxe pressure redistribution mattress (15870 family), bought new, against defects in materials, workmanship and assembly. The warranty covers the original purchaser only.
- Foam: 10 years.
- Cover: 3 years.
- Drive repairs, replaces or refunds at its option; labour and shipping are not included.
- Follow the cleaning instructions and inspect the mattress inside and out at least every 3 months.
- Excludes custom sizing or other changes to the foam or cover, negligence, accidents, sharp objects and tears, fire, improper storage, use without the cover or with a damaged cover, and unauthorized repairs or modifications.
