Blake Infusion Gel Mattress, 2 Inch Gel Topper, Non-Powered

The Blake Infusion (Infusion3680 at 36" x 80") is a 6" (15 cm) foam mattress with a 2" (5 cm) gel-infused memory foam topper, for a person with some mobility, and no pump.

What does it do and how does it work?

• A dual-density foam base and firm side bolsters sit under the 2" (5 cm) gel-infused topper.
• Blake says that topper is made for wound prevention, and that the gel cuts heat and perspiration, which lowers the risk of skin maceration.
• The cover is 4-way stretch, antimicrobial, fluid-proof and wipeable. No power cord.

Who is it for, and who should choose something else?

• Blake states it maintains skin health for people with some mobility and a lower risk of skin breakdown.
• A nurse, doctor or therapist decides whether gel mixed into foam is enough.
• Choose the G2 when the plan needs Geo-Matrix gel columns and a stage I to II healing surface. Choose alternating pressure when the team wants a pump.

Will it fit?

• Standard size is 36" x 80" x 6" (91 x 203 x 15 cm). Other widths are 39", 42", 48", 54" and 60" (99, 107, 122, 137 and 152 cm), each 80" long.
• It is not an 84" mattress. Many homecare hospital beds use a 36" x 80" deck.
• Capacity is 350 lbs (160 kg). Custom capacity is 500 lbs (227 kg). A lower bed rating applies.
• Health Canada guidance is gaps under 120 mm (4 3/4 in) along the rail and between the rail and the mattress, and under 60 mm (2 3/8 in) at the rail ends. Check this height with the rails.
• Order the width you measured. A mattress that has been on skin cannot be returned. See the return policy.

Using it day to day

• Lay it on the bare deck and wipe spills off the cover.
• Spare cover INFUSIONRC3680 fits 36" x 80". A wider mattress needs the cover for that width.

What does it work with, and what are its limits?

• The 2" layer is the top of this mattress, not a pad you add to a different mattress.

Which version should I choose?

• Infusion3680 is the 36" width. 39", 42", 48", 54" and 60" are the other widths.
• Blake also makes Infusion Soft and Infusion Firm. This product is the standard gel-infused Infusion. Ask which build you need before you order.

How does it compare?

• The G2 uses gel columns, deeper at the coccyx, and Blake rates it for healing stage I to II injuries at 300 lbs (136 kg).
