Description
Ki Mobility builds the Little Wave Arc as a folding paediatric tilt-in-space chair. It tilts back to 45 degrees and folds compact like a stroller, so it suits a child who needs postural support and a caregiver who lifts it in and out of a vehicle.
Who is it for?
- It suits a child who needs pressure relief and help holding a comfortable posture through the day.
- Seat widths run from 10 to 18 inches and seat depths from 12 to 20 inches, with a 165 lb capacity. Book a free home assessment: we confirm your child's measurements and your therapist's plan before the chair is ordered.
How the tilt works
- The arc-shaped roller guide keeps your child's weight centred, so repositioning stays smooth. The chair tilts from upright to 45 degrees, by hand tilt or foot tilt.
- Growth is built in: at least 2 inches of seat width and 3 inches of seat depth of adjustment. The folding-recline back opens for changing and transfers.
What it is like to live with
- Transport weight is 20.5 lb on a 14 by 14 frame with the attendant wheel locks, armrests, rear wheels and footrests removed.
- Rear wheels come in 12, 16 and 20 inch sizes and casters in 5, 6, 7 and 8 inch.
- Positioning is ordered with the chair: Ki's Axiom for Kids cushions, backs, laterals and headrests, and the Pro elevating legrests. The Arc is transit approved when it is built with the transit system.
- More than 20 gloss and matte colours are offered for the frame and accents, with two-colour frames at no extra cost. Compare the tilt wheelchair range.
Funding and service
Mobility Specialties is an ADP registered vendor. Talk to your child's occupational therapist or physiotherapist before you order, and see who may help pay.
Each Arc is built to order, so we confirm the measurements and options with you and give you the timing then. We deliver and set up across Toronto and the GTA: see our service area.
Frequently asked questions
Can we limit how far the Arc tilts?
Yes. Ki offers tilt stops for the front and rear of the range, so your child's therapist can set how far it tilts.
Can the Arc be used in a vehicle?
The Arc is transit approved when it is built with the transit system option, and the seating must be removed for transport.
Is the seating included with the chair?
The chair comes with its base upholstery. Ki's Axiom for Kids cushions, backs, laterals and headrests are ordered with it, and we quote the chair and the seating together.
