The Med-Aire 5 belongs above an existing mattress. That extra height is the main fit question, even when the bed deck is the correct width.
How does it work?
Drive's 14025NS uses 17 five-inch air cells with alternating and static settings.
The alternating cycle is 10 minutes.
Do not put it directly on an empty bed deck.
The Med-Aire 14027 is an eight-inch full mattress system, so it replaces the original surface.

- Drive says individual cells are removable for service and identifies a removable nylon/PU top cover over a nylon/PVC base.

Does the five-inch Med-Aire replace my mattress?
No. Drive calls 14025NS an overlay for use over a standard foam or innerspring mattress. The existing mattress stays in place.
What does the low-pressure alarm do?
Drive lists a visual warning when air pressure is low. Check the pump, hoses and cells using the maker's instructions, and follow the person's care plan if normal support is interrupted.
Why do the head cells stay still?
Drive calls the three head cells a pillow feature. They remain static while the other cells alternate, giving a stable area at the head of the bed.
