Description

The Wellell Procare Elite, model 9P-087000, is the powered mattress also filed as the Serene Elite. It is 78.7 by 35.4 by 8 in (200 by 90 by 20.3 cm), with alternating pressure and ventilated low air loss, rated 210 kg (460 lb).

What does it do and how does it work?

  • The surface is a cell-on-cell air mattress: two layers of air cells run under the body and alternate inflation to move pressure.
  • Ventilated low air loss passes a small airflow through the cover to carry moisture away from the skin.
  • A digital controller runs the therapy, and the hose set connects the controller to the mattress.
  • The mattress is 8 in (20.3 cm) high, with 20 cells, and replaces the mattress on the bed.

Who is it for, and who should choose something else?

  • A person whose care team recommends alternating pressure with low air loss.
  • A home or facility bed with a 36 in deck.
  • Someone who needs a foam surface, or a deck wider than 36 in, should choose another model.

Will it fit?

  • 35.4 in wide, 78.7 in long and 8 in high (90 x 200 x 20.3 cm).
  • The 210 kg (460 lb) rating is the mattress limit on this width. The bed frame's own safe working load applies if it is lower.
  • At 8 in high, recheck the gaps to the rails. Health Canada recommends gaps under 120 mm (4 3/4 in) within and under the rail, and under 60 mm (2 3/8 in) at the rail ends. See bed rails.
  • A mattress that has touched skin cannot be returned, so measure first. See the return policy.

Using it day to day

  • Allow 20 to 25 minutes for the first inflation. It starts in Max Firm, then moves to alternating.
  • Leave at least 1 in (2.5 cm) between the person and the bottom cell. Cycle time is 10, 15, 20 or 25 minutes.
  • In a power cut the alarm and buzzer sound. Cap the quick connector to slow air loss. If the person bottoms out, move them to another surface.

What does it work with, and what are its limits?

  • Strap the base to the bed frame. A 2 in foam pocket is part of this 8 in mattress.
  • The pump is for this mattress. It runs on AC 110-120 V, 60 Hz.
  • This listing is the 35.4 in mattress. The 42 in and 48 in sizes are rated 455 kg (1000 lb).

How does it compare?

Frequently asked questions

Is it a mattress or an overlay?

A replacement mattress for the bed, not an overlay on another mattress.

What happens in a power failure?

The alarm sounds. Cap the connector to slow air loss. Move the person if they bottom out.

Will it fit a 42 inch deck?

Not this listing. The 42 in and 48 in sizes of the same system are rated 455 kg (1000 lb).
