Description
The Drive Cruiser X4 is a folding wheelchair with hand rims, so the rider or companion can push it.
Who is it for, and who should choose another chair?
- An adult up to 300 lbs (136 kg) who self-propels, foot-propels, or is pushed. It is not a transport chair.
- Wants one steel size and a fold-down back: the Drive Rebel.
- Wants anti-tippers included, or a 22" seat: the Drive Viper Plus GT. Over 300 lbs: bariatric wheelchairs.
Check the fit
- Drive measures seat width end to end across the upholstery. Also measure hip to knee and knee to heel, or book a free home assessment.
- The Super Hemi Kit lowers seat height 2" (5 cm). A 6" hemi caster is optional.
- The 2026 catalogue says 34 lbs (15.4 kg) or less without footrests or legrests. Item pages say 33.5 lbs or less, so we confirm before you order.
- Rear wheel size is not published, so we confirm before you order. The wheels are quick-release, with hand rims.
Safe use
- Set both push-to-lock wheel locks before a transfer, a forward lean, or an elevator or lift. Do not stand on the footrests or the chair, and do not use the locks to slow down.
- Not approved as a seat in any vehicle, and not for roadways. Get help on inclines of 10 degrees or more.
- Anti-tippers are not included, though Drive sells them for this frame. Footrests stay at least 2.5" (6.4 cm) off the floor, and Drive's IV pole sleeve does not fit.
- The nylon seat is not a pressure cushion. See cushions. Drive does not say the back folds down.

- A short-term folding wheelchair can be rented. It is not this model.

Which axle is the low seat?
Drive does not say which of the three axle positions is which seat height, so we confirm before you order.
How tall are the armrests?
Desk or full arms flip back and lift off. Drive adjusts the height above the seat rail.
Is the open width published?
No. Drive does not publish the open width, and the folded length includes the footrests.
