Joerns UltraCare XT is a long-term care bed with a 650 lb (295 kg) safe working load, a 7 to 30 inch height range and a toroidal steel grid deck.
What does it do and how does it work?
- The deck adjusts from 7 to 30 inches (18 to 76 cm) above the floor, with a horizontal travel under 1 inch.
- Four actuators move the back, the knee and the hi-low deck; auto contour and the Comfort Chair are one-touch positions.
- The back raises to 65 degrees, or 79 in the Comfort Chair; the knee raises to 35 degrees.
- The backlit pendant has a lockout with indicators; the staff control adds Trendelenburg, reverse Trendelenburg, gravity assist and AutoTransfer.
- A built-in battery backup keeps the bed working in a power outage.
- The LED SafeLight lights the floor in three intensities for night checks.
- Heavy-duty 3 inch casters and a three-position mobility lock hold the bed in place.

Using it day to day
- Use the pendant for the back, knee, hi-low and Comfort Chair positions, and the staff control for tilt and lockout.
- The 30 and 45 degree comfort pauses remind staff to reposition the resident through the night.
- Switch the SafeLight to the intensity you need for a night check.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
- The mattress, panels and assist devices must be matched to the bed to reduce entrapment gaps.
- Joerns assist devices for this bed include the F17 pair, the F026 pivoting handle and the F028 deluxe handle; the care team decides whether rails are used.
- The electrical parts are covered for 5 years, the frame for 15 years and the welds for life.

Warranty details
Joerns Healthcare warrants the UltraCare XT bed (model UCXT) against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service, from the date of delivery.
- Mechanical and electrical components: 5 years.
- Steel structural components: 15 years.
- Welds: lifetime, defined as 20 years.
- Wear parts such as DC batteries and pendants: 90 days.
- Excludes damage from unsuitable environments, abuse or poor maintenance; any alteration, modification or repair not done or approved in writing by Joerns voids the warranty.
