Description

The Sunrise Medical Quickie GP (model EIGP70) is a rigid aluminium box-frame wheelchair for an adult who self-propels and stays at or under 250 lbs (113 kg), rider and carried items together.

What does it do and how does it work?

  • The rigid box stays open. A rear wheel comes off only when its axle button pops fully out.
  • Camber is 0 to 11 degrees, preset at 7 degrees.
  • Centre of gravity adjusts from 0.5 to 3.5 in (1.3-8.9 cm).
  • Frame angle is 60, 70, 75 or 80 degrees. Back angle is -4 to 8 degrees.
  • Standard wheel: 24 in (61 cm) spoke. Options: 22 and 26 in. Standard caster: 5 in (12.7 cm).
  • Wheel locks work only at a full stop and must bite 1/8 in (3 mm) into the tire.

Who is it for, and who should choose something else?

It suits an adult who self-propels within 250 lbs (113 kg). A Built-4-Me build is rated to 350 lbs (159 kg).

Choose the Quickie 2 if the frame must fold, a transport chair if a companion will push, or a tilt wheelchair if you need tilt. Over 250 lbs, see bariatric wheelchairs.

Will it fit?

Seat width is 12-22 in (30.5-55.9 cm). Seat depth on this box frame is 12-18 in (30.5-45.7 cm). The tapered GPV depth runs to 22 in (55.9 cm).

Front seat height is 15.5-23 in (39.4-58.4 cm). Rear seat height is 14.5-20.5 in (36.8-52.1 cm). A non-folding back is 8-20 in (20.3-50.8 cm). A folding back is 11-20 in (27.9-50.8 cm).

We confirm the frame style (box-frame GP, tapered GPV or Swing-Away) and the seat depth before you order. A free home assessment measures hip width, thigh length and heel height.

Using it day to day

23.75 lb (10.8 kg) is a GP reference weight, not the finished chair and not a wheels-off weight.

Check both axle buttons before each ride, and set both locks before a transfer. Sit on a cushion. The sling is not a sitting surface.

Clean with mild soap and dry the frame. Do not shower in the chair. Sliding the push handles sets the back height.

What does it work with, and what are its limits?

JAY cushions and Empulse M90 wheels are separate orders. Anti-tips are optional. Set them 1.5-2 in (3.8-5.1 cm) off the ground.

One person rides. Do not stand on the frame or use it as a step. For travel, move to a vehicle seat.

Use firm, even ground, not sand, loose soil, rock or the street. The frame is covered for the first owner. Other parts are covered for one year.

Which version should I choose?

This chair is the box-frame GP, model EIGP70. The tapered GPV shares that number. The Swing-Away is EIGPSA, with swing-away hangers and a 12-20 in (30.5-50.8 cm) seat.

There are 24 finishes on the 2025 palette, including gloss black, matte black and camo.

How does it compare?

The Ki Mobility Ethos is another rigid aluminium chair built to size. The Rogue 2 is a rigid adult chair. Folding wheelchairs close across the seat for a car.

Frequently asked questions

Does the main frame fold?

No. This rigid box frame stays fully open. A folding back is a separate order.

Can I ride in a vehicle in this chair?

No. Move to a vehicle seat. A positioning belt is not a vehicle seat belt.

What is the weight limit?

250 lbs (113 kg), rider and items together. Built-4-Me is rated to 350 lbs (159 kg).
