Description
The Afiscooter S3 Plus is Afikim's heavy three-wheel outdoor scooter, built for long trips on paths, grass and gravel, with a swivel seat and an optional canopy.
Who it suits, and who should choose something else
- A rider who wants a heavy-duty three-wheel scooter that stays home rather than going in a car.
- It needs a garage or ground-floor room, and a van or lift for trips. See travel scooters if you must lift one.
- Rated capacity is 440 lb (200 kg), including the rider.
- If you need a cushion or back support, ask your therapist about a power wheelchair.
Check the width and the turn
- Length 61 in (155 cm). Width 27 in (68 cm), or 36 in (91 cm) on golf tires. Turning radius 56 in (143 cm); the four-wheel S4 Plus is the same class with a wider turn.
- Ground clearance 5 in (12.5 cm). Slopes: 11 degrees at reduced speed, 8 at full speed, straight up and down. It climbs a 4.7 in (12 cm) curb head-on.
- With batteries it weighs about 337 lbs (153 kg), 234 lbs (106 kg) without. The 44 lb seat lifts off and the tiller folds flat for a van; the frame stays whole.
- The seat is 20 by 18 in with headrest, flip-up armrests and fore-aft slide, and swivels 45 or 90 degrees each way. Tires run at 25 psi, or 20 psi on golf tires.
Batteries and charging
- Two 12 V sealed AGM or gel batteries, Group 31 100 Ah, are sold separately; each is about 51 lbs (23 kg).
- Range up to 50 km (31 mi) is for the 100 Ah pair; a smaller pair will not match it.
- The 8 amp charger is included, for indoor use without an extension cord; the scooter will not drive while plugged in. Charge overnight and monthly in storage.
- Expect a new pair every 2 to 3 years or 300 to 400 cycles. See scooter batteries.
- Colours: Silver, Blue, Charcoal Grey or Red. Golf tires and a canopy are options; the canopy adds 33 lbs (15 kg).
Controls and care
- The tiller has an angle lever, a right speed lever (left on request), an LCD with speed, battery gauge, distance and time, a half-speed switch and dual USB ports.
- Regenerative braking works with an automatic park brake and a hand lever. Front and rear shocks smooth the ride; a technician sets the rear pair to the rider's weight.
- LED headlight, turn signals, tail and brake lights and hazard flashers. A freewheel lever lets you push it.
- Light rain only. Keep it out of snow, salt, spray and ice, store it above 0 degrees C and wipe with a damp cloth, never a hose; below 10 degrees C storage cuts runtime.
- It is not a vehicle seat. For transport, take the batteries out upright and tie it down at the four points.

Will Group 31 batteries fit?
Yes. The Canadian specification is two Group 31 100 Ah batteries.
Can I take it in the rain?
No. Clean it with a damp cloth, never a hose, and do not ride in rain, snow or on ice.
What warranty applies in Canada?

- 2 years: gearbox, motor, brake, bearings, bushings, rubber parts and plastic parts other than the body.
- 2 years: controller, charger, wiring harnesses and other electrical parts.
- Excludes wear items: plastic shrouds, motor brushes, upholstery and seating, brake pads, tires and tubes, fuses and bulbs.
- Warranty service is done by an authorized Proudrider dealer.
