Equipment for your home care plans

A patient lift rental provides a floor lift for an agreed period without purchasing it. For a Hoyer-style floor lift rental, plan the lift, compatible sling and assistance with your trained care team. Mobility Specialties helps Toronto, Brampton, Mississauga and GTA customers review equipment, dates, room access and the written rental arrangements.

What should you check before renting a patient lift?

Prepare these details for your equipment discussion. Your trained care team should determine the transfer method and assistance required. Arrange training and review the exact manufacturer instructions before use.

Lift, sling and assessment

Ask your care team to review the support needed and the complete equipment combination. Confirm the lift model, sling type and size, attachment system and manufacturer limits for both components. A matching hook or similar appearance does not establish compatibility.

Room, bed and doorway clearance

Measure the doorway route and space around the bed, chair or other transfer destination. Describe floor surfaces, furniture and the space under the bed. Ask the team to check the exact lift base, turning space and transfer requirements against those measurements.

Caregiver preparation and instructions

Discuss who will assist and the training required for the supplied system. Ask for the operating, inspection and maintenance instructions, any charging requirements and the contact for equipment problems. Confirm the arrangements before the rental begins.

Planning and manufacturer guidance: Health Canada patient lift guidance; FDA guidance on training and manufacturer-approved slings. Follow the instructions for the exact model.

How much does a patient lift rental cost?

The patient lift rental listing shows its current published pricing and rental periods. Request a written quote for the available equipment and your dates. Confirm the billing unit, minimum term, any deposit, sling or other components, taxes and separate delivery, setup or collection charges. Keep the extension, cancellation and return conditions with your agreement.

How does a rental enquiry work?

Prepare the care team recommendation and room details, review the proposed equipment and quote, then confirm the arrangements with our team.

  1. 1. Describe the equipment need

Give the requested start date, estimated duration and postal code. Include the care team equipment recommendation, any existing sling or lift details, room measurements and access requirements.

  2. 2. Review the complete proposal

Confirm the exact lift, compatible sling and other supplied components. Review the dates and complete charges, together with collection or delivery, setup and instruction arrangements.

  3. 3. Agree the booking

An enquiry does not reserve a lift. Confirm availability and the written terms directly with the team. Keep the supplied instructions and contact details, including how to report a fault, extend the term or arrange the return.

Patient lift and Hoyer-style rental questions

Where can I rent a patient lift in Toronto, Brampton or Mississauga?

Contact Mobility Specialties through this rental enquiry or the current telephone number below. Our physical showrooms are in Etobicoke and Brampton. Confirm the equipment, requested dates, access and collection or delivery arrangements before travelling or making plans.

How much does a patient lift or Hoyer-style lift rental cost?

Review the current patient lift rental listing for published pricing and periods, then ask for a quote for the exact equipment and dates. Confirm the billing unit, minimum term, any deposit, sling and other components, taxes and separate delivery, setup or collection charges.

See current rental pricing
Is a sling included with the patient lift rental?

Ask for the quote to identify whether a sling is supplied and which type, size and attachment system it uses. The lift and sling combination must be approved by the manufacturer and checked for the person with your trained care team. Do not infer an inclusion from a photograph.

Confirm the sling and inclusions
Can I use a sling I already own?

Have the exact lift model and sling identity reviewed before use. The manufacturer must approve the combination, and the size, attachment system, load limits and condition need checking. A sling that attaches to the bar is not necessarily compatible.

Explore sling requirements
Is a full-body floor lift the same as a sit-to-stand lift?

No. These systems have different support and assessment requirements. Your trained care team should determine the transfer method and assistance needed. Review the separate sit-to-stand rental listing if that is the recommended equipment.

Explore the separate sit-to-stand option
Will the rental lift fit under my bed and through my doorways?

Compare the exact lift dimensions and operating requirements with the route, floor surfaces, under-bed clearance and transfer space. Ask the team to review those details before booking. A portable or folding label does not establish room fit.

Prepare room measurements
Can I arrange delivery and setup in Toronto or the GTA?

Share the destination, access details and requested dates. Confirm whether delivery, setup, instruction and collection can be arranged for that equipment and address, and which services and charges are included in the quote. An enquiry is not a delivery appointment.

Ask about delivery and setup
Can I rent a patient lift for a week or a month?

Share the requested start date and estimated duration. Check the current listing and ask the team which rental period, billing unit and minimum term apply to the available equipment. Confirm extension and return conditions before booking.

Review current rental periods
Who should show caregivers how to use the lift?

Arrange training for the exact lift and compatible sling before use, and review the manufacturer instructions with the trained care team. Confirm who will provide the instruction and the assistance required for the planned transfers.

Plan training and assistance
What if the lift needs service or the rental needs extending?

Ask for the contact and procedure for equipment problems when the booking is confirmed. Review extension or return arrangements before the agreed end date, including any notice, charges or collection appointment. Keep the instructions and confirmation with the agreement.
