The Lumex LF2090 Bariatric Easy Lift, article 139-LF2090, is a powered lift that raises a seated person to standing, for a person up to 600 lbs (272 kg).
What does it do and how does it work?
The hand pendant raises the boom, and the sling carries the person under the arms and around the waist.
- The 24 V DC actuator lifts from 27 to 71 in (68.6 to 180.3 cm) at the sling hooks.
- A Lumex sit-to-stand sling goes around the back and waist; the shoulder straps hook to the spreader bar.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
- For a bariatric person who can stand with support and follow simple instructions during a transfer.
- Not for someone who cannot bear weight, or who has involuntary movements or limited postural control; that person needs a full body floor lift.
Will it fit?
Measure the chair or wheelchair first.
- The load must not exceed 600 lbs (272 kg), evenly distributed.
- The open base is 43 in (109.2 cm) wide; closed it is 26 in (66 cm).
- The base is 50 in (127 cm) long and sits 6 in (15.2 cm) high.
Using it day to day
- Charge for 10 to 12 hours before the first use; the lift will not run while the charger is plugged in.
- Seat the person, slide the sling down the back to the lumbar area, bring the shoulder straps to the chest and fasten the waist belt.
- A foot pedal opens the base, and the base locks in three positions.
- Set the feet on the platform and the knees against the knee pad, hook the straps to the spreader bar, then raise.
- The maker recommends two carers for every lift.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
- Use Lumex sit-to-stand slings only.
- Do not put a cushion or pad between the person and the sling, and do not use a torn sling.
- Three long beeps mean the load is over the limit; the lift will not raise it.
- The frame and spreader bar carry three years; the actuator, casters, control box, pendant and charger two years; the batteries one year.
