Description
The EZee Life CH2029 is a junior set of aluminium underarm crutches for a child roughly 122 to 147 cm tall.
What does it do and how does it work?
- Underarm pads sit under the arms, and the hands take the weight on the grips.
- The shaft adjusts from 31 to 37 in (79 to 94 cm) by push button.
- The hand grips have their own adjustment holes and wing nuts.
- A double extruded centre tube adds strength at the weight-bearing area.
- The crutches arrive fully assembled and carry up to 300 lb (136 kg).
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
- For a child in the junior range who needs support on both sides while one leg heals.
- For a family that wants the height to adjust as the child grows.
- For a taller teen or adult, ask about the adult CH2030 or the tall CH2050.
Will it fit?
- The crutches adjust from 31 to 37 in (79 to 94 cm), for a user 4 ft to 4 ft 10 in (122 to 147 cm) tall.
- With normal posture and usual footwear, the top pad should sit about 1 to 2 in below the armpit.
- The weight limit is 300 lb (136 kg).
Using it day to day
- Move both crutches 12 to 18 in ahead, then swing the body forward.
- Put your weight on the hand grips, not on the armpits.
- Turn the wing nuts to set the grips, and replace a tip when its tread is smooth.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
- They are underarm crutches, not forearm crutches.
- They do not fold; the box is 53.3 in (135 cm) long, so they travel flat.
- Pads, grips and tips are wear parts and are excluded from the warranty.
How does it compare?
- The Cardinal forearm crutches cuff the arm instead of sitting under it.
- A knee walker keeps all weight off the leg without crutches.
- See the walking aids range.
Frequently asked questions
Is one order a pair or a single crutch?
We confirm whether you need one crutch or a walking pair before your order.
Can they be used on stairs?
The walking steps are for level ground. Follow the child's therapist's advice on stairs.
Do they fold for the car?
No. They ship flat in a 53.3 in (135 cm) box and need a full back seat.
Do I need tools to change the height?
No. The shaft is push-button adjustable and the grips turn on wing nuts by hand.
