Description
Item 56-388-KIT is the gait training kit for a Bure Rise and Go Belt MULTI. The straps add a walking harness to that belt. The kit is not the walker, and it does not hang on a lift.
Who is it for?
It adds security for a person who walks in a Bure Rise and Go and may feel dizzy or unsteady.
- The person still stands and moves their legs; the kit does not carry their weight.
- Two carers are recommended whenever a person stands or is moved in the walker.
- For a person who cannot take weight through the legs, start from patient lifts.
What is in the box?
- Four soft parts: two padded straps that lock between the legs, and two straps with fastening hooks.
- Two attachment modules, one for each armrest.
- The screws that lock each module.
What else you need
- A Belt MULTI in the person's size: 56-384-MULTI-S, M, L or XL. The belt is separate.
- A Bure Rise and Go DB walker, item 56-309 or 56-309/75.
- The walker carries up to 150 kg (330.7 lb), and that is the limit for the whole setup.
How does it go on?
- Fit the Belt MULTI, then place the padded straps between the legs and lock them.
- Push each module under an armrest cushion from the inside, at the middle of the armrest, and lock it with the screw.
- Stand the person in the walker, then hook the green-band carabiners into the modules.
- Tighten the strap as short as it will go. Thread the green strap from the lower buckle up through the upper part, and keep loose ends outside the tensioned strap.
Care and checks
- Check the straps and hooks before each use, and retire a strap that is torn, frayed or bent at the hook.
- Follow the care label on the straps.
- Wipe the walker armrests with mild soap or a surface disinfectant; do not clean the device with steam.
How does it compare?
- Transfer gait belts: a belt a carer holds, with no walker.
- Gait training: other walking supports.
- Patient lift slings: for a person who cannot take weight.
