Description
Item 56-388 is the Bure gait training harness for Bure walkers. It is the harness and four table mounts, not the walker, and not Rise and Go kit 56-388-KIT.
What does it do?
It supports a person during walking practice in a Bure walker and adds fall protection.
- Four blue straps run from mounts under the walker table to the harness.
- Each strap has a plastic buckle for length and a steel carabiner at the end.
- The harness is worn under the body and brought back between the legs.
Which walkers does it fit?
- Bure Std/S, Bure Low, Bure Ortho, Bure Space and Bure DB 2.0.
- The Bure XL is not one of those models.
- Rise and Go uses a different kit, 56-388-KIT, with green straps.
- 56-388 is the harness plus the four mounts. The mounts go under the table where you place them.
Who is it for, and what is the limit?
It suits a person who can practise walking with support and weighs no more than 150 kg (330 lb).
- A clinician assesses the person first.
- It is for walking practice only. It is not a sitting aid and not a lifting aid.
How does it go on?
- Set the walker on a level floor and lock the brakes.
- Clip the two front carabiners to the table's front mounts, one left and one right.
- Stand the person in the walker, bring the harness back between the legs and clip the rear pair.
- Set the length from the back strap loops so the harness supports without lifting.
What to check before each use
- Check the straps, buckles and carabiners for wear, and replace a damaged part.
- Make sure all four carabiners sit on their mounts.
- The centre is a black padded piece, and the four straps are blue with plastic buckles.
How does it compare?
- Gait training: the wider range for walking practice.
- Patient lifts: lifts for a person who cannot take weight.
- Rollators: walkers for a person who does not need a harness.
