Description
The Handicare Height Adjustable Shower Trolley, part LI2513.1904-02, is a lying-down shower platform on four braked castors. The person is transferred onto it once and showered there, so the carer stays upright and nothing is lifted. This is the flat model.
What does it do and how does it work?
- Lying surface: 74.8 by 29.1 in (1900 by 739 mm) of perforated coated woven polyester, so the person can lie either way.
- Height: 21.7 to 35.4 in (550 to 900 mm), set with a foot control that leaves both hands free.
- Water: a PVC receiver under the frame drains through a 39.4 in (1000 mm) flexible hose.
- Castors: four 5 in (125 mm) castors, each double braked with its own foot lock.
- Sides: two hinged side fences come with the trolley.
- Build: coated stainless steel frame in a powder-coated white finish.
- Capacity: 330 lb (150 kg).
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
- For someone who cannot sit unaided for a shower, or cannot be lifted into a shower chair.
- The height range allows a transfer from a bed at bed height, which is easier on both people.
- If the person can sit, a shower commode or a tub slider is smaller and easier to store.
- For a propped-up position, the maker builds the same trolley with a gas-spring backrest, part LI2514.1904-02.
Will it fit?
- The lying surface is 74.8 in (1900 mm) long and 29.1 in (739 mm) wide; measure the doorway and the turning space in the wet room.
- The maker builds shorter versions, 59.3 in (1505 mm) and 67.1 in (1705 mm), as other part numbers.
- Book a free home assessment and we measure the room with you.
Using it day to day
- Tighten the expander bolts on all four wheels before the first use and again after four weeks, then check them regularly.
- Lock each castor with its foot lock before a transfer, set the height with the foot control, and shower the person on the lying surface.
- Inspect the textile and frame for damage, and clean with normal household detergent only, never an aggressive cleaner.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
- It carries 330 lb (150 kg).
- It is a shower trolley, not a bath or a changing table, and it does not replace a sling hoist where one is needed.
- Bathroom safety items are non-returnable under our return policy, so measure the room first.
How does it compare?
A shower commode suits someone who can sit upright. The Beka ANA nursing table is for changing and washing at a fixed station. All showering aids are under bathroom safety.
Frequently asked questions
Can one carer manage the transfer alone?
The trolley lets a person move from bed to shower without manual lifting, and the foot control leaves both hands free. Talk the routine through with us first.
Will it pass through a bathroom doorway?
It is 29.1 in (739 mm) wide, and shorter versions exist. Measure your doorway and turning space before ordering.
Does this model have a backrest?
No. This is the flat LI2513.1904-02. The gas-spring backrest version, LI2514.1904-02, is a separate part number.
How is it cleaned?
With normal household detergent, and no aggressive cleaners. The lying surface and frame should be checked for damage as well.
