What is included?

Motion Composites builds the chair from the order form, so seat size, colour, wheels, and armrests are part of the quote. The carbon studio photos show one setup: a fabric back, push handles, spoked rear wheels, small casters, and swing-away footrests, with no armrests on that frame. A growth kit covers the first 5 years of ownership (carbon cross-braces, cross-brace links, seat sling, back upholstery and footplates). A cushion is counted in the 22 lb figure but is not included. Description

The Motion Composites Helio C2 is a folding ultralight wheelchair built to order in T700 carbon fiber, with a carbon cross-brace.

What does it do, and how does it work?

  • T700 carbon unibody frame with a symmetrical carbon cross-brace and a carbon seat rail with an integrated seat slider.
  • Front frame angle 60, 70, 80 or 90 degrees; camber 0, 3 or 6 degrees; centre of gravity 1 to 4 in (2.5 to 10 cm).
  • Back angle sets from 85 to 110 degrees, and the armrests adjust from 6 to 14 in (15 to 36 cm).
  • Anti-flutter casters with a screw-twist adjustment.
  • 22 lb (9.98 kg) in its lightest functional setup, a 16 by 16 in chair with wheels, locks, footrests, back and cushion.
  • Transport weight 11.7 lb (5.31 kg) without wheels, armrests, side guards, cushion, anti-tippers and footrests.

Who is it for, and who should choose something else?

Will it fit?

  • Seat 14 to 22 in (35.6 to 55.9 cm) wide and 14 to 20 in (35.6 to 50.8 cm) deep.
  • Front seat height 13 to 21.5 in (33 to 54.6 cm); rear 12.5 to 20.25 in (31.8 to 51.4 cm).
  • Back height 9 to 21 in (22.9 to 53.3 cm); overall width 20.75 to 33.5 in (52.7 to 85.1 cm).
  • Measure hip width, hip to knee and knee to heel in shoes, or book a free home assessment.

Using it day to day

  • The frame folds through its carbon cross-brace, and the quick-release rear wheels come off for transport.
  • The integrated seat slider sets the seat depth; frame angle, camber and centre of gravity are set when the chair is built.
  • A technician sets the back angle and armrest height; the caster screw-twist takes out flutter.

What does it work with, and what are its limits?

  • The 265 lb (120 kg) capacity rises to 350 lb (159 kg) only with the heavy-duty kit, and exceeding it voids the warranty.
  • Anti-tippers are an option, not fitted as standard.
  • The 22 lb figure counts a cushion, but no cushion is supplied; add one in the seat size.
  • The heavy-duty kit's seat-width range should be confirmed when you order.

Which version should I choose?

  • Standard or heavy-duty kit; front angle, camber and centre of gravity are chosen on the order form.
  • 19 frame colours; Khaki Green and Desert Sand are matte, and the cross-brace stays gloss carbon.

How does it compare?

  • The Helio A7 is an aluminum folding chair and takes 265 lb (120 kg), or 350 lb with its heavy-duty kit.
  • The Helio A6 is the other aluminum folding model in the Helio range.

Frequently asked questions

Does the 22 lb weight include a cushion?

Can the front seat height go to 12 in?

The orderable range starts at 13 in (33 cm); ask us about a lower setting before ordering.

Can I add anti-tippers?

Yes; they are an option on the order form rather than standard equipment.
