The Future Mobility Prism Supreme Heavy Duty (SCHD2620 and the other SCHD sizes) is a contoured foam wheelchair cushion for positioning, up to 500 lb (227 kg).
What does it do and how does it work?
Future Mobility classes it for a high degree of positioning support. A firm foam top holds the thighs and pelvis.
- Leg troughs and a raised centre guide the legs. The front edge is a waterfall. The rear is cut for the back posts.
- A visco foam layer sits under the seat bones. Height there is 4.25 in (108 mm). The outer front sides are 6.5 in (165 mm).
- Two covers come on it: a water-resistant inner liner and a breathable four-way stretch outer cover.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
It is for a wide wheelchair, 24 to 32 in (610 to 813 mm). An occupational therapist or physiotherapist chooses it in a seating assessment.
- Do not use it over 500 lb (227 kg).

Will it fit?
Order it to the seat width and depth, not to hip width. We confirm both before you order.
- There are 45 catalogue sizes. Widths run from 24 to 32 in in 1 in steps. Depths are 16, 18, 20, 22 and 24 in.
- SCHD2620 is 26 x 20 in. That size weighs 6.8 lb (3.1 kg). Odd widths and the deeper sizes are made to order.
- Custom sizes stay inside 24 to 32 in wide. Hook-and-loop on the cover should meet the seat.
Using it day to day
Use it with both covers on. Check the skin often after it is fitted.
- Wash the outer cover cold, on a gentle cycle, with a mild detergent. Do not use bleach or fabric softener.
- Air dry it, or tumble on low. Never immerse the foam. Wipe the foam with a lightly damp cloth.
- If incontinence soaks the foam, replace the cushion. A torn cover must be replaced before use.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
It sits on a wheelchair seat pan or sling. The limit is 500 lb (227 kg).
- Do not sit on it if a cover is torn. The covers keep moisture off the foam.
