Description
The HighStar EasyMove strap set, item 120000, is a sling accessory for loop-style slings with head support. It lengthens a strap or steadies a person who shifts during a transfer.
What does it do and how does it work?
- Two straps, each with a carabiner at both ends and a slider for length.
- Counterbalance use: clip one end to the head support and the other to a shoulder or hip strap, matching loop colours.
- Extension use: clip one end to a leg, hip or shoulder strap and loop it to the same strap on the other side.
- Either way the sling moves with the person instead of lagging behind.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
- For a sling user who extends, shifts or turns during a transfer, or whose straps will not reach the carry bar.
- Only for loop-style slings with head support.
Will it fit?
- Check the sling: it must have loops and head support.
- Clip to the loops and match the colour on each side.
- The sling's weight limit still applies; EasyMove adds none.
Using it day to day
- Inspect both straps for tears, rips or fraying before every lift.
- Remove the carabiners before washing. Use a laundry bag at 80 C (176 F) or cooler, no bleach, air dry or cool tumble, no dry clean or iron.
- HighStar recommends disinfecting with accelerated hydrogen peroxide instead of washing.
- Replace the set after about 2-3 years, or sooner if it deteriorates.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
- Every sling loop must be on the carry bar and secure before you raise the person.
- The set does not fit slings without head support, and it does not raise the sling's capacity.
How does it compare?
- Full body slings have built-in head support, so they may not need the extra straps.
- Divided leg slings leave the toilet area open; EasyMove does not change that shape.
