Hoyer classic padded U-sling with head support, extra large 70010

70010 is the extra large Hoyer Universal U-sling, padded, with head support. It is a divided-leg sling for a passive Hoyer lift, with a commode aperture and four loop points.

What does it do and how does it work?

It supports the back, thighs and head, and the loops let the carer set a more upright or more reclined position.

• The padded body and head section add comfort for a person who needs head support.
• The commode aperture allows toileting transfers, and the leg straps cross for a secure seat.
• Hand grips on the sides help the carer position the person.
• It fits a Hoyer loop bar, not a clip bar.

Who is it for, and who should choose something else?

It suits a person who needs a general purpose sling with head support for a passive lift transfer.

• A clinician assesses the sling, size and method before use.
• For a person without head-control needs, the padded U-sling without head support is 70000 to 70003.
• It is not a stand aid or a sit-to-stand sling.

Which size is which?

Small is 70013 (red), medium 70012 (yellow), large 70011 (green) and extra large 70010 (blue).

• Each size has its own item number, and every size is rated 600 lb (272 kg).
• Ordering the extra large does not send the other sizes.
• The colour chart's weight bars are a sizing guide only. A clinician assesses build, not weight alone.

Which lift does it fit?

It hangs on a Hoyer loop spreader bar.

• The classic chart lists the HML400, CHLA-2, HPL402 and CHLA-2T.
• We confirm the hanger bar on any other Hoyer model before you order.
• Genuine Hoyer slings are made for Hoyer lifts; other makers' parts are not interchangeable.

Using it day to day

Feed the sling down the back with the top of the commode aperture at the base of the spine, then bring each leg strap under the thigh.

• Cross the leg straps and attach them to the front hooks at the longest loop.
• Attach the shoulder straps at the short loops for an upright seat, or longer for a reclined position.
• Check the stitching, loops and fabric before each use, and support the head at all times.

What care does it need?

Machine wash in warm water no hotter than 185 F (85 C), then dry as the label directs.

• Do not bleach, and discard a bleached, torn, cut or frayed sling.
