Description
The Hoyer Long Seat Commode is a hammock-style sling for toileting transfers, made in polyester and in mesh. It is the commode version of the Long Seat and hangs from a loop bar. Small, medium and large are the three charted sizes.
What it is for
- The Long Seat shape is designed for amputees and for other patients a qualified person has assessed as suitable.
- The commode version is for toileting transfers with a passive lift.
- It is fitted from a recumbent position: the bottom of the sling just behind the knees and the top at shoulder blade height.
- Never leave the person unattended, and do not exceed the 500 lb (227 kg) rating.
Which code is which
- Polyester: small red NA1125, medium yellow NA1128, large green NA1131.
- Mesh: small red NA1126, medium yellow NA1129, large green NA1132.
- The chart has no commode extra large. The plain Long Seat in extra large is NA1109.
- Extension straps NA2650 add length to the sling straps and are separate.
Fitting and lifts
- The sling is loop style and fits a loop bar on the Hoyer Advance, Elara, HPL450, HPL500, HPL700, Presence and Stature.
- Attach the shoulder strap and leg loops to the front and rear hooks of the side suspenders, then the hip straps to the front hooks.
- Side suspenders are an optional accessory, not part of the sling; they make the transfer more comfortable. Keep them away from the face.
- Support the head while the person is suspended if that is needed.
- Use genuine Hoyer slings with Hoyer lifts. Slings and lifts from different makers are not designed to be interchangeable.
Care and inspection
- Machine wash in warm water no hotter than 185 F (85 C). Do not use bleach and do not dry clean.
- Cool tumble dry or air dry.
- Check the fabric and stitching before every use. A bleached, torn, cut or frayed sling is unsafe and must be replaced.
- Do not try to reposition a person by pulling on the sling loops.

Frequently asked questions
Is NA1128 the mesh medium?
No. NA1128 is the polyester medium. The mesh medium is NA1129.
Is there a commode extra large?
No commode extra large is listed on the current size chart. Both fabrics stop at large; the plain Long Seat XL is NA1109.
Do these codes include side suspenders?
No. Side suspenders are an optional accessory; the sling is supplied without them.
Does NA1125 fit every Hoyer lift?
It is a loop-style sling for a loop bar. The chart names the Advance, Elara, HPL450, HPL500, HPL700, Presence and Stature.
As a Hoyer Pro sling, it is warranted for 12 months from purchase to the original owner; see the Warranty tab.

Warranty details
Joerns Healthcare warrants the Hoyer Long Seat commode sling (NA1125 to NA1132), a Hoyer Pro sling, against defects in materials and workmanship, and replaces a sling that proves defective within the warranty period.
- Sling: 12 months from purchase.
- Covers the original purchaser only.
- A replacement is covered only until the original warranty period ends.
- Joerns may ask for the sling to be returned for inspection, at the customer's expense.
- Excludes normal wear and tear, neglect, wilful damage, unsuitable surroundings and care that does not follow the instructions.
- Any alteration, modification or repair voids the warranty.
