The Hoyer Presence is a powered floor lift with an aluminum frame, a 500 lb (227 kg) safe working load and a powered opening base. It lifts a person from the floor to a bed, chair or commode.
What does it do and how does it work?
- The boom raises and lowers with a hand control, and the base opens under power so the legs fit around a chair or bed.
- A 6-point cradle is standard and takes loop slings; a 4-point cradle with the Securi3 clip system is an option.
- It lifts from the floor: the spreader bar drops to 16.9 in (430 mm) and rises to 75.2 in (1,910 mm).
- The Smart Monitor counts lifts, warns on overload and reminds for service.
- The scale version, HOY-PRESENCEWSC-S, adds a NAWI Class III digital scale and keeps the full lifting height.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
- For a larger or heavier person up to 500 lb (227 kg).
- For a carer moving someone from the floor, bed, chair or commode; the person does not need to stand.
- Choose a ceiling lift if the room is too tight for the 55.1-57.5 in (1,400-1,460 mm) floor length.
Will it fit?
- Length is 55.1-57.5 in (1,400-1,460 mm); height is 57.5-81.3 in (1,460-2,065 mm).
- Legs closed: 26.4 in (670 mm) outside and 21.7 in (550 mm) inside. Legs open: 45.3 in (1,150 mm) outside and 40.1 in (1,020 mm) inside.
- The lift weighs 88.2 lb (40 kg) with the power pack.
- A low-leg kit is a separate part for low beds and stretchers; it is not included.
Using it day to day
- The battery pack detaches and charges off the lift; a full charge takes about 4 hours and the charger is automatic.
- Two castors are braked; apply them for parking.
- If the power fails, the red boss on the actuator lowers the person mechanically, and the control box has raise and lower buttons if the hand control fails.
- The lift is tested to EN ISO 10535 and has a minimum service life of 10 years.
Which sling?
- The standard 6-point cradle takes loop slings; the optional 4-point cradle takes clip slings with the Securi3 system.
- The sling and lift ratings must match, and the lowest-rated part sets the limit.
- Tell us which cradle is on the lift and we confirm the sling.
What does the warranty cover?

Does the base open?
Yes, under power. The outside width goes from 26.4 in (670 mm) closed to 45.3 in (1,150 mm) open.
Can it lift someone from the floor?
Yes. The spreader bar lowers to 16.9 in (430 mm), which is what makes a floor lift possible.
Do I choose a scale version?
Yes. HOY-PRESENCE-S has no scale; HOY-PRESENCEWSC-S has the scale.
What slings fit?
Loop slings on the standard 6-point cradle; clip slings on the optional 4-point cradle. Tell us which cradle you have.

Warranty
Warranty details
Joerns Healthcare guarantees HoyerPro lifts, including the Hoyer Presence, against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service. Terms run from the date of delivery.
- Mechanical and electrical components: 2 years.
- Aluminium structural components and welds: lifetime, defined as 15 years.
- Pendant (hand control): 1 year.
- Wear parts such as batteries, hydraulic pumps and casters: 90 days.
- Covers the original purchaser only.
- Excludes damage from unsuitable environmental conditions or from maintenance that does not follow the user and service instructions.
- Any alteration, modification or repair not done or authorized in writing by Joerns Healthcare voids the warranty.
