Description
The Joerns Hoyer slide sheet (NA25525 small, NA25526 medium, NA25527 large) is a nylon sheet with a silicone treatment that lowers friction under a person during a repositioning move.
What does it do and how does it work?
It lowers friction between the person and the bed, so a carer can turn or move someone with less pulling.
- The nylon surface has a silicone treatment for low friction.
- It has no handles, because handles pull the carer into a poor posture, can hold bacteria and can shrink in a hot wash.
- It is a repositioning sheet, not a lifting sling.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
It suits a carer who turns or repositions a person in bed and wants to reduce the pull on the body.
- For a prone move, the small sheet goes under the feet along with a large sheet.
- For a full lift, use a full body sling and a patient lift.
- A free home assessment can check the bed move before a size is chosen.
Will it fit?
Three sizes cover the common bed moves.
- Small: 24 x 18 in (61 x 46 cm), under the feet in a prone move.
- Medium: 36 x 25 in (91 x 64 cm), at the hips and mid-section, or for a shorter person.
- Large: 60 x 31 in (152 x 79 cm), for lateral repositioning of an average or tall person.
Using it day to day
Slide the sheet under the person at the hips or the feet, depending on the size, then draw it across the bed.
- Check the stitching before each use, and retire a sheet that is torn or worn.
- Wash at 185 F (85 C) or less.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
It is a repositioning aid only and is not rated to lift anyone.

- The extra large and XXL sheets are different items: NA25528 and NA25529.
How does it compare?
- Full body slings for lifting with a hoist.
- Patient lifts for a full transfer.
- Other patient lift slings when the task is a lift, not a slide.
Frequently asked questions
Can it lift a person?
No. It is a repositioning sheet; a sling and lift are needed to raise someone.
Why are there no handles?
Handles encourage a poor grip, can hold bacteria, and can distort in a hot wash.
Are larger sizes available?
Yes. Extra large NA25528 and XXL NA25529 are separate items, not sizes of this sheet.

Warranty details
Joerns Healthcare warrants the Hoyer slide sheet (NA25525, NA25526, NA25527), a Hoyer Pro slide sheet, against defects in materials and workmanship, and replaces a slide sheet that proves defective within the warranty period.
- Slide sheet: 12 months from purchase.
- Covers the original purchaser only.
- A replacement is covered only until the original warranty period ends.
- Joerns may ask for the slide sheet to be returned for inspection, at the customer's expense.
- Excludes normal wear and tear, neglect, wilful damage, unsuitable surroundings and care that does not follow the instructions.
- Any alteration, modification or repair voids the warranty.
