Description
The Invacare Carroll CS7 is a full-electric long-term care bed, sold here as one refurbished unit. It raises and lowers the sleep deck and moves the head and foot sections from a hand pendant.
What does it do and how does it work?
- Four Linak LA27 actuators move the head, the foot and the deck height.
- Floor to deck height runs from 9 in (23 cm) to 30 in (76 cm).
- The head section rises to 70 degrees.
- Trendelenburg to 14 degrees is available on fitted units.
- An 8-channel pendant with lockout sits in a holster on the rail.
- Four 3 in (7.6 cm) casters, locking and non-locking, move the bed.
- An on-board battery backup, part 1152564, works in a power failure when fitted.

- A long-term care facility or home care room that needs powered positioning and a low deck.
- A buyer who can accept one inspected unit rather than a new bed.
- Not for a resident over 500 lbs (228 kg), or a buyer who needs the new-bed warranty, which does not transfer.
Will it fit?
The CS7 platform comes in three lengths and three widths.
- Platform length: 76 in (193 cm), 80 in (203 cm) or 84 in (213 cm).
- Platform width: 35.5 in (90 cm), 38.5 in (98 cm) or 41.5 in (105 cm).
- Overall length 84.25 in (214 cm) or 88.25 in (224 cm), depending on the deck; under-bed clearance is 14 in (36 cm).

Using it day to day
- Press one function at a time and pause between adjustments.
- Lock the casters before a transfer and release them before moving the bed.
- The heel lift ratchet raises the foot section by hand.
- A technician checks the frame, casters and electronics each quarter and year.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
- Occupant limit is 500 lbs (228 kg), one person, with weight spread over the deck.
- The mattress must fit firmly against the frame and rails; a gap can entrap. Health Canada explains the risk on its hospital bed safety page.
- Invacare assist rail pairs: IHCSRLAS-QSP for the 36 in deck, IHCSRLAS-39 and IHCSRLAS-42; partial pair IHCSRLPA.

Frequently asked questions
Is this a new bed?
No. One refurbished CS7, inspected for power, caster locks, deck and controls; the photo shows the model, not the unit you receive.
Does the warranty transfer to me?
No. The Invacare warranty covers the original purchaser of a new, unused bed and does not transfer.
Are rails and a mattress included?
No. Rails and a mattress are separate and must fit the deck. See bed rails and medical mattresses.
Will the unit have Trendelenburg and battery backup?
Only when that unit was built with them. Trendelenburg and the on-board battery are optional fittings.
