Description
The MOBB Knee Walker MHKWHF is a four-wheel knee walker from MOBB Health Care in Concord, Ontario, built to keep weight off one foot or ankle while it heals.
What does it do and how does it work?
- A steel frame with a silver vein finish carries four 8 in (203 mm) casters.
- The two-piece padded knee pad is 7 in wide by 14 in deep (178 x 356 mm).
- A hand brake on the handlebar has a locking lever for parking and a threaded cable adjuster.
- The front basket lifts off the frame.
- The handlebar turns the front casters, so the walker steers instead of being lifted around corners.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
- It suits someone recovering from foot surgery, a break or a sprain who must keep weight off one foot and finds crutches slow or tiring.
- It is a walking aid, not a chair: do not sit on it or let anyone push you while seated.
- For someone who can walk on both feet, a two-wheeled walker is simpler.
Will it fit?
- The knee pad adjusts from 17 to 22 in (432 to 559 mm), and the handlebar from 34 to 40 in (864 to 1,016 mm), both without tools.
- Set the pad first, so your knee rests on it with the injured foot clear of the floor, then set the handlebar for your reach.
- Check the doorway and the car boot you will use; our free home assessment can check them with you.
Using it day to day
- Slide the basket receptacles over the hooks on the front.
- Squeeze the brake lever to slow down; press the locking lever down to hold the brake for parking, and use the threaded adjuster to set cable tension.
- To fold, release the tiller locking handle, slide the assembly aside and fold the tiller down onto the knee pad.
- Ride it on smooth floors and paved surfaces.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
- It weighs 23 lb (10.4 kg), and the front basket lifts off.
- The warranty is lifetime limited to the original purchaser and is not transferable; wear and tear, abuse and improper adjustment are excluded.
- It is a walking aid, not a wheelchair or transport chair.
How does it compare?
- Our Drive Economy Folding Knee Walker is the other knee walker we stock.
- Our knee walker range lists both models.
- The rollator and walker guide explains when a walker suits better.
We deliver and set up across Toronto and the GTA, setting the pad and handlebar. Our service team handles repairs.
