Description
The NuProdx MC5000 is a stationary commode chair, shower chair and tub transfer bench in one. The seat slides from the section beside the tub, over a removable bridge, into the tub, so the hips do not rotate and nothing is lifted.
What does it do and how does it work?
- Sections: a commode section and a tub section, joined by a locking connector bridge.
- Seat: 17 by 17 in (43 cm) as standard, with a 17 by 20 in frame upgrade; the arms fold back.
- Slide: the seat runs on tracks over the bridge; left is the factory direction and right is available.
- Height: 21.5 to 25.5 in (55 to 65 cm) seat to floor, with the legs and crutch tips levelling both sections.
- Opening: an 8 in (20 cm) opening with a 4 in (10 cm) slot on the standard cushion.
- Build: aircraft-grade aluminum, brass and stainless steel, with hand-wrapped Naugahyde cushions.
- Weight: about 42 lb (19 kg), carrying up to 300 lb (136 kg).
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
- For a wheelchair user who cannot reach the tub because the toilet is in the way.
- For a walker user who is not comfortable rotating the hips as a traditional transfer bench requires.
- For a rolling system, the MC6000 is the wheeled version; this one stays in place.
- If no commode is needed, a simpler transfer bench does the job.
Will it fit?
- The whole system spans 48 in (122 cm) from the commode section through the bridge to the tub section.
- Bridge length comes from the K measurement, the distance from the middle of the tub drain to the middle of the toilet.
- Measure the tub, toilet, threshold and doorway; a threshold over 1/2 in (1.3 cm) must be made accessible.

Using it day to day
- Fit the legs and backrest, level both sections and lock the bridge with its shoulder screws.
- Set the height before the user is transferred in, and check the fasteners before each use.
- Slide the seat and make sure the release latch engages fully before crossing the bridge.
- The bridge lifts out for shower curtain closure or to give the carer more room.
- Clean the cushions and frame with normal household cleaner; it is for indoor bathroom use only, and outdoor use voids the warranty.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
- It carries 300 lb (136 kg). Both backrest posts must be fully engaged, and the bridge fully seated in both sections, or a part can dislodge.
- The two sections must be level and the same height, or the slider will not work safely.
- Hard parts are covered for two years and cushions and arm pads for one year, by repair or replacement.
- Bathroom safety items are non-returnable under our return policy, so measure first.
How does it compare?
A transfer bench is simpler where the user can rotate the hips; the shower commode range has wheeled and tilt models.

Do I need to measure my bathroom first?
Yes. The bridge length comes from the K measurement, from the middle of the drain to the middle of the toilet.
Does it roll?
No. Both sections stand in place and the seat slides between them.
Is a commode pan included?
No. The commode pan, footrests and splash guards are separate accessories.

Nuprodx warrants this multiCHAIR 5000 series shower commode chair against defects in material and workmanship from the date you receive it, and will repair or replace it at its discretion with no charge for parts and labour, with proof of purchase and purchase date.

- Seat and back cushions: 1 year.
- Excludes normal wear and tear and custom parts or custom cushions.
- For indoor shower and bathroom use; outdoor use voids the warranty.
