Description

The NuProDX MC6000TiltPed is a pediatric shower commode and tub transfer system for a child who needs caregiver assistance. It combines a commode chair, a sliding tub seat and a mobility chair.

What does it do and how does it work?

  • Three sections: a roll-in section on casters, a connector bridge and a tub section with adjustable feet.
  • Tilt: centre-of-mass tilt in space with a rack and pinion hand crank, in a smaller footprint than back-pivot tilt.
  • Support: an adjustable padded headrest, flip-up cantilever arms and swing-away footrests.
  • Transfer: the seat slides over the bridge into the tub, and the bridge comes off so the curtain can close.
  • Frame: aluminum, brass and stainless steel, with Derlin wheels and Naugahyde cushions.

Who is it for, and who should choose something else?

  • It suits a child with a higher-level disability who needs head support.
  • It suits a bathroom where the chair can roll from the bed to the toilet and the tub.
  • Choose a stationary shower commode if the child can transfer at the door.

Will it fit?

  • Width: 22 in (56 cm) from the outside crank handle to the opposite arm pad; measure the narrowest doorway.
  • Seat height: 21.5 to 25.5 in (55 to 65 cm) to the floor, with the under-frame at 16 to 20 in (41 to 51 cm).
  • Seat depth: chosen for the child from 10.70 to 17.70 in (27 to 45 cm); the back cushion sets the space between the arm pads.
  • Toilet and tub: fits over standard and taller toilets and into most tubs, over a threshold up to 1/2 in (1.3 cm); slide direction set left or right.
  • Bridge: 13 in (33 cm) standard, or 9 to 23 in (23 to 58 cm) for a different tub.

Which version should I choose?

  • Seat depth: eight effective depths from 10.70 to 17.70 in (27 to 45 cm).
  • Back cushion: tall and narrow 9, 11 or 13 in (23, 28 or 33 cm) wide, or a T-back in 13, 15 or 17 in (33, 38 or 43 cm).
  • Commode cushion: 5.5 in (14 cm) opening with or without a 4 in (10 cm) slot, solid, or pinned for both.
  • Upholstery: Gray standard, or Dark Blue, Camo and Green.

What does it work with, and what are its limits?

  • It carries 300 lb (136 kg) and weighs about 66 lb (30 kg).
  • It is built to the order, so the seat depth and cushions are fixed then.
  • It is for indoor bathroom use; outdoor use voids the warranty.
  • Warranty terms by part are in the Warranty tab.

How does it compare?

More bathroom safety equipment.

Frequently asked questions

Does the chair come assembled?

It comes in three sections; we fit the legs and cushions and set it up with you.

Can the tub be on either side?

Yes. The slide direction and the tub section are set left or right.

Can it roll over a shower curb?

Only over a threshold up to 1/2 in (1.3 cm); a higher curb needs a different setup.
