A patient lift rental in Toronto and the GTA is one full-body floor lift from our fleet, used with a sling, for someone who cannot bear weight. Our rental floor lifts include standard full-body lifts from Hoyer (Joerns) and Invacare; the model depends on what is free. See our rentals and the patient lift rental guide.
Who is it for?
It suits transfers at home for as long as care needs them, including the first weeks after hospital, or the wait for a lift you own.
- If the person can bear some weight, a sit-to-stand lift you buy may suit better. This is not a sit-to-stand rental.
- For long-term transfers in the same rooms, a ceiling lift leaves no base on the floor. To buy a floor lift, see electric Hoyer lifts.
How does the rental work?
After you check out, we call you to confirm availability and book your delivery and set-up time. Questions first? Use the form on our medical equipment rental page, or call (905) 798-1853.
- There is no maximum period. Ask us about the minimum when you call.
- We deliver and set the lift up across Toronto and the GTA and show your carers how it works. Fees may apply. Customer collection and return are not available. Hours are on our showrooms page.
- Every lift is cleaned and inspected before it goes out and when it comes back. Our technicians cover repairs during the rental. See service and repairs.
- Tell us the person's weight and ask for that lift's safe working load. Ask if a sling is included. Any sling must be recommended for that lift and sized for the person.
Renting or buying
Rent when the need may end. Buy when transfers will be daily for a long time. A free home assessment checks the rooms before a purchase. We also rent hospital beds and folding wheelchairs.

Is a sling included?
We confirm that when we book. Any sling has to be recommended for that lift and sized for the person. Do not assume one is included.
What if the lift stops mid-rental?
Stop using it and call (905) 798-1853. Technicians cover repairs during the rental. Do not carry on if the boom, a caster or a hook looks damaged.
