Description
The Pride Baja Bandit BA140 is a four-wheel outdoor scooter rated 400 lb (181 kg), with a 36-volt lithium pack and solid 9.4 in tires.
What does it do and how does it work?
- A 36-volt rear-wheel transaxle gives 12.9 km/h (8 mph).
- The 20 Ah pack gives 23.3 km at 220 lb and 18.1 km at 400 lb; the 40 Ah pack gives 46.7 and 36.1 km.
- The 4 A charger fills it in 8 to 14 hours, plus 4 hours after full.
- 9.4 in solid tires need no air, and front and rear suspension soften rough ground.
- Clearance is 1.57 in at the motor skid and 4.45 in at mid-deck; the slope limit is 7.5 degrees and the obstacle limit 2 in.
- A full LED package, USB port, bumpers and a stadium seat with slider are standard.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
- A rider up to 400 lb (181 kg) who wants a rugged outdoor scooter with solid tires.
- The 40 Ah pack is the one that meets Class B; the 20 Ah pack is the shorter-range choice.
- It is not a travel scooter: 162.6 lb without the pack, 49.6 in long.
- For postural support, ask your therapist about a power wheelchair.
Will it fit?
- Length 49.6 in (1260 mm) and width 27.83 in (707 mm).
- The seat is 18 by 17 in (457 by 432 mm), 15.55 in (395 mm) above the deck; seat-to-deck is 18.11 in (460 mm).
- It weighs 162.6 lb without the pack, 183.4 lb with 20 Ah and 197.8 lb with 40 Ah.
- Measure the doorway and the car opening; a free home assessment checks both.
Using it day to day
- Charge 8 to 14 hours after daily use, plus 4 hours after full.
- The freewheel lever lets you push it on level ground; return it to drive before riding.
- Four tie-down points secure it in a van or on a trailer.
- The battery pack lifts out, and the frame separates by hand for a two-person lift.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
- The 400 lb (181 kg) capacity includes the rider and anything carried.
- Keep within the 7.5 degree slope and 2 in obstacle limit; motor-skid clearance is 1.57 in.
- The airline must approve the lithium pack before you fly.
- Range falls with a heavier rider, hills and a lighter pack.
Which battery and colour should I choose?
- 20 Ah for shorter trips, or 40 Ah for Class B and the longer range.
- Colours are Camo, Sage and Tan, each with its own item number.
How does it compare?
The heavy-duty scooter range lists larger and smaller models for heavier riders, and the four-wheel range covers the full class.
Frequently asked questions
Does the 20 Ah pack make it Class B?
No. Only the 40 Ah configuration reaches Class B; the 20 Ah pack is shorter-range.
Can I fly with the lithium pack?
The airline must approve the pack before you travel with it.
How much room does it need to turn?
The turning radius is 53 in (1347 mm) and the reversing width 68.9 in (1750 mm).
What do I lift when it comes apart?
The frame separates by hand; the scooter is 162.6 lb without the pack, which lifts out separately.
The frame has a lifetime limited warranty, electronics and drivetrain 2 years, and the lithium pack 3 years (see the Warranty tab). Our service team services what we sell.
