Description
The Pride Victory Twin is a mid-size four-wheel scooter whose two front wheels sit close together for stability, with a 42 in (1067 mm) turn.
What does it do and how does it work?
- The sealed rear transaxle and 24-volt motor give a top speed of 5.7 mph (9.2 km/h).
- Two 12-volt, 40 Ah deep-cycle batteries give up to 11.1 mi (17.8 km) on a charge.
- The off-board charger fills the pair; the first charge takes 8 to 14 hours.
- Solid tires (dual 3 by 9 in front, 3.5 by 10 in rear) need no air pressure.
- An LED headlight, automatic rear brake light, turn signals and battery meter are standard.
- The delta tiller wraps around for either hand, and the seat turns through eight positions with sliders and viscoelastic foam.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
- Riders up to 350 lb (159 kg) who want four-wheel stability without a wide turning circle.
- It suits pavement, shopping trips and long indoor routes.
- If you lift it into a car often, the 55 lb (25 kg) front section is heavy; a travel scooter may suit better.
- For postural support, ask your therapist whether a power wheelchair suits better.
Will it fit?
- It is 46 in (1168 mm) long and 22.3 in (566 mm) wide, with 2.25 in (57 mm) of clearance at the motor.
- The seat is 18 by 17 in (457 by 432 mm) and sits 23 to 24.5 in (584 to 622 mm) above the ground.
- It weighs 150.5 lb (68.3 kg) without batteries; the 40 Ah pair adds 65 lb (29.5 kg), for about 215.5 lb (97.8 kg).
- Measure the doorway and car opening; a free home assessment checks both.
Using it day to day
- The frame separates with one hand and no tools into seat, rear, front, basket, batteries and shroud.
- Charge 8 to 14 hours after daily use, add 4 hours after full, and give 24 hours weekly if you ride less.
- A freewheel lever lets you push it; never use it while seated or on a slope.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
- The 350 lb (159 kg) capacity includes the rider and anything carried.
- The maximum rated incline is 8 degrees (14.1%) and the obstacle limit is 2 in (50 mm).
- Keep the anti-tip wheels fitted; the 2.25 in (57 mm) clearance and solid tires suit pavement.
- Cane, crutch and oxygen holders, a rear basket, mirror and weather cover are listed as accessories; ask which are available.
How does it compare?
The Victory 10.2 three-wheel is the single-front-wheel version of the family. The four-wheel scooter range lists travel models that separate into lighter pieces.
Frequently asked questions
Are the tires solid?
Yes. The front pair is 3 by 9 in solid and the rear 3.5 by 10 in solid, with no air pressure to check.
Can one person load it?
The frame separates with one hand, but the 55 lb (25 kg) front section may need two people.
Does it have a seat elevator?
No. The seat turns through eight positions but does not rise or lower.
How long does charging take?
8 to 14 hours, plus 4 hours after the charger indicates full.
