Description
The ProBasics PBSL110 is a medium full body sling in blue polyester mesh, with head, neck and partial under-thigh support and four-point straps.
What does it do and how does it work?
It cradles the head, neck and thighs and hangs from four straps, so a lift can move a person who cannot stand.
- Mesh polyester works in wet or dry settings, so the sling suits a shower chair transfer as well as a bed transfer.
- A brushed lining helps stop the person sliding and protects the skin.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
It suits a person who needs head and neck support during a full body lift.
- It moves a person between a bed and a wheelchair, toilet or shower chair, and can lift someone from the floor.
- Choose the version with a commode opening, PBSL114, when the person needs toileting access.
- A risk assessment decides whether the sling and transfer are suitable.
Will it fit?
The medium sling is 41.5 by 53.3 in (105.4 by 135.4 cm) and is rated 450 lb (204 kg).
- It has four straps that hook to the lift bar.
- The large size without an opening is PBSL111, a different item.
- The lowest limit of sling and lift wins.
Using it day to day
Fit the sling around the back and under the thighs, then hook all four straps to the lift before raising the person.
- Check the straps and stitching before each use, and hook every strap before lifting.
- Keep the head and neck section under the head, with the brushed lining against the person.
