Description

R82 Caribou is a four-size standing frame that supports a child in prone, upright or supine positions. The frame tilts from vertical to horizontal on a foot-operated gas spring or a power actuator.

Who is it for?

  • A child with impaired mobility and functional ability who needs supported standing.
  • It is not a gait trainer and not a wheelchair.
  • It is for indoor use in a home or an institution, not outdoors or in wet areas.
  • A taller or heavier user needs a different frame.

Which size?

  • Size 1 fits a user height of 33.5 to 44 in and a user mass up to 88.1 lb (40 kg). It is yellow.
  • Size 2 fits 38.5 to 50.75 in and up to 132.2 lb (60 kg). It is red.
  • Size 3 fits 49.25 to 61.5 in and up to 176.3 lb (80 kg). It is blue.
  • Size 4 fits 60.25 to 72.5 in and up to 220.4 lb (100 kg). It is anthracite grey.
  • Order by user mass; the higher maximum rated load includes the frame.

How does the tilt work?

  • The easy-tilt mechanism lets the caregiver keep both hands free.
  • Choose the foot-operated gas spring or the power actuator; the quote names which one.
  • The static downhill stability limit is 5 degrees.

What changes with the size?

  • Frame mass runs from 45.1 lb on the size 1 manual to 81.6 lb on the size 4 power.
  • Length is 29.5 in, 36.25 in, then 43.75 in for sizes 3 and 4.
  • Width is 20, 22.5, 25.5 and 29.5 in.
  • Horizontal height is 27.5 in on sizes 1 and 2 and 31.5 in on sizes 3 and 4.
  • Head, trunk, leg, foot and arm supports, trays and straps are separate.
