Description
An emergency stop is what a carer reaches for when a transfer goes wrong: the lift stops where it is and the person stays supported. The power switch on these lifts doubles as the emergency stop, and the red cord is what a carer can pull.
The lift does not charge while the emergency stop cord is pulled, so a lift left that way between uses can run its battery down.
The assembly is wired inside the lift, so a technician fits it and tests the stop before the lift returns to service. The stop sits in our spare parts range, and fitting is booked as a service visit. Funding may help: see who may help pay.
Why will my lift not charge?
Check the red cord first: the lift will not charge while it is pulled, and it is easily knocked out during handling.
