Description
The main board is the lift's control centre: it runs the lift's movements and talks to the display and hand control. When that conversation breaks down, the lift can stop responding to the buttons.
An interrupted display communication can come from a damaged connection between the display and the display board or main board, a display board failure in the device or hand control, or a main board failure. Sorting those apart is a service call.
The board sits inside a casing that must not be opened by the user, so a technician fits and tests it.
