The Airgo Comfort-Plus MiniQuad is a walking cane with a four-point base that stands on its own. This is item 730-857 in black.
What does it do and how does it work?
- Four points spread the base, and the tip re-centres under the cane as you set it down.
- The cane stands upright on a level floor, so you can let go to open a door or reach for something.
- The MiniQuad base is 54% lighter than a large-base quad cane.
- The offset handle has a cushioned grip, and the strap has a reflective patch.
- The anodized aluminium shaft is rated to 300 lb (136 kg).
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
- For someone who needs support on one side and wants the cane to stay upright when they let go.
- Choose a rollator if you need to rest or carry weight with both hands.
Will it fit?
- The 12 push-button settings cover most people 5 ft 0 in to 6 ft 5 in.
- Set the handle at wrist height with your usual shoes on.
- Press the button, slide the shaft, and let the button click into a hole.
- Hold the cane in the hand opposite the side that needs support.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
- It takes a share of your weight, not all of it.
- On stairs or uneven ground, keep your hand on it.
- A replacement MiniQuad tip is the separate item 780-030.
