The BEKA NORA Alu is a powered stand-up aid for a resident who can stand briefly with support. It is rated 200 kg (440 lb) and lets one caregiver raise and move the person between seated surfaces. The aluminium frame widens and narrows electrically.
Who it is for
- A person who can stand for short periods with support during a transfer.
- A therapist should check weight bearing, trunk control and the destination seat.
- Someone who needs fully suspended support needs a passive lift instead; see patient lifts.
- The seat area can be showered with the person in the sling, which cuts down on extra transfers.
Base, frame and room fit
- Length is 40.4 in (1,027 mm) and height is 46.0 in (1,168 mm).
- The carrier frame is 27.6 in (700 mm) wide closed and opens to 35.3 in (897 mm) inside.
- The frame sits 5.0 in (126 mm) above the floor, on 3.9 in (100 mm) front castors and 4.9 in (125 mm) rear castors with parking brakes.
- Knee pads adjust in height and carry safety belts; extra sling attachment points suit shorter users up to 1.60 m.
- Handles are shaped for a firm grip, and the frame has a footplate.
Lifting and power
- The lifting range is 35.0 to 68.0 in (898 to 1,726 mm).
- The 24 V battery is removable and the motor is self-locking, so the arm cannot drop if the power fails.
- Article 921071008 has an integrated charger. Charge the battery fully, about four hours, before first use, and charge it in a well-ventilated room.
- There is an emergency stop switch, plus manual and electrical emergency lowering.
Sling and accessories
Use a NORA stand-up sling in the size that fits: S (921070053US), M (921070103US), L (921070203US) or XL (921070303US). A double knee pad (921070408), a carry bar loop pin kit (921070602) and a replacement 24 V battery are separate accessories. The sling is not included; we confirm the size before you order.

Frequently asked questions
Is NORA Alu the same as NORA Pro?
No. NORA Alu and NORA Pro are separate BEKA stand-aid models with different frames and article numbers.
Can I use a sling I already own?
Only if BEKA approves it for the NORA Alu connection. Send us the sling's make and model and we will confirm it.
Does the base open electrically?
Yes. The carrier frame widens and narrows at the touch of a button.
What happens if the battery runs out?
The motor is self-locking, and the lift has manual and electrical emergency lowering. The handset also shows the charge level.
Do I need to order a sling separately?
Yes. NORA slings in S to XL are separate items; the lift is supplied without one.
