Domus 4 Edge Alternating Pressure Mattress, 3 Inch Transfer Edges

The Domus 4 Edge is a powered alternating pressure and low air loss mattress with 3 in (8 cm) firm foam transfer edges, 8 in high and 79 in long, in 36 or 42 in widths, rated 450 lbs (204 kg).

What does it do and how does it work?

• The control unit runs a 10-minute alternating cycle, a constant low pressure static mode, max inflate and seat inflation for the Fowler position.
• Low air loss moves air across the surface for microclimate control.
• Three-inch wide firm foam transfer edges run along both sides.
• The fluid-resistant quilted cover zips off in one step.

Will it fit?

• Widths are 36 in (91 cm) or 42 in (107 cm); length is 79 in (201 cm); height is 8 in (20 cm).
• The 450 lbs (204 kg) rating is the mattress limit; the bed frame's own safe working load applies if it is lower.
• The foam edges are part of the mattress, not bed rails. Assess the transfer method and the gaps to any rails with the whole bed. Health Canada recommends gaps under 120 mm (4 3/4 in) within and under the rail, and under 60 mm (2 3/8 in) at the rail ends. See bed rails.

Using it day to day

• Set the mode and comfort level on the control unit; the panel locks itself after five minutes.
• The CPR release valve deflates the surface quickly in an emergency.
• In a power failure the powered therapy stops; follow the care team's outage plan.
• Unzip the top cover for cleaning and check the surface for tears at each linen change.
