Permobil Atlas Hybrid Therapeutic Surface ATL3580 - Advanced Pressure Injury Prevention Mattress

The 5 Minds Mobility Atlas Hybrid ATL3580 is a non-powered air-and-foam mattress, 35 x 80 x 7 in (89 x 203 x 18 cm). Permobil Canada distributes it.

What does it do and how does it work?

It combines a multi-zone foam top with interconnected air chambers that equalize under the body.

• The top has Serene foam in the middle for immersion.
• Interconnected chambers and valves share air as the person moves.
• The foot section slopes 5 degrees and uses Super Soft foam to take pressure off the heels.
• Four-inch firm foam borders give a solid transfer edge.
• A manual ROHO pump and closure kit are included; a caregiver sets the firmness.
• The fluid-resistant four-way stretch cover wipes clean.

Who is it for, and who should choose something else?

5 Minds Mobility labels the Atlas Hybrid for prevention and treatment of pressure injuries.

• The person's nurse, doctor or therapist decides which surface suits their skin and risk.
• It suits a person up to 450 lbs (204 kg) on the 35 and 39 in widths, or 600 lbs (272 kg) on the 42 and 48 in widths.
• Choose a powered surface from the start if the care plan needs alternating pressure.

Will it fit?

Match the width to the deck; every size is 80 in long and 7 in high.

• The 35 in size is ATL3580; 39, 42 and 48 in widths are separate codes.
• The 7 in (18 cm) height changes the transfer height and rail gaps. Health Canada advises gaps under 120 mm (4 3/4 in) in zones 1 to 3 and 60 mm (2 3/8 in) in zone 4.
• The bed's safe working load still applies.
• A used mattress cannot be returned under our return policy.

Using it day to day

The included ROHO pump adjusts the chambers through the closure kit.

• It needs no wall power; the base surface equalizes without a controller.
• Wipe the cover clean.
• The 4 in borders are foam inside the mattress, not bed rails.

What does it work with, and what are its limits?

It is a non-powered mattress that can be upgraded later.

• Alternating pressure needs the separate Atlas Hybrid Pump.
• The base does not provide low air loss or lateral rotation.
• Custom sizes are available; the standard widths are 35, 39, 42 and 48 in.

How does it compare?
